Repeating Domain Name Twice!!!

Let's say you want to get a domain name like dogbones but it is not available.

And everything is taken. .com, .net, .org, .tv, .info, .biz. Everything is taken and unavailable including the ones with dashes.

What effect on SEO would getting a site that mentions the domain name twice have? For, example: dogbones-dogbones, dogbonesdogbones, dog-bones-dog-bones.

Will the effect be the same on squidoo or blogspot? In other words, you go to blogspot and get dogbones-dogbones . blogspot .com in case dogbones . com is already taken?

What are the effects on broad, phrase, and exact searches?

  • Wow, never even thought of that. I don't think that google would like it too much, as it looks like you are trying to optimize for the keyword. It looks unnatural. Maybe add something the the end. Like dogbonesonline. Download Domain Samurai for free and it can help give you some insight on the most optimized keyword for your domain name.

    Hope that helps!
  • I would stay away but if you have to check it out with a .info for experimental reasons ... go for it. It puts new meaning into the phrase, "Duplicate Content."
  • Google doesn't like it and they specifically mention it as a practice to stay away from in their SEO guide.

Just customize it a little more with something like tastydogbones.whatever

    • Geez, I'd hate to have a father and son law firm....

      DeweyAndDewey.com
      CheathamAndCheatham.com
      HoweAndHowe.com

  • I believe they refer to that as spamming your keywords. Frowned upon.
  • Hello there-I don't believe Google would sanction it-It ain't worth the risk!
  • If you believe there is a benefit of the exact domain name match then that exact match is lost when it isn't exact...

Repeating the keywords means the domain name is no longer exact.

Why not look at another keyword that includes the phrase of your desired domain name but also the exact match for another?

    cheapdogbones.com, dogbonesforvegetarians.com, foxterriordogbones.com etc.
