Couple of Adsense Questions

Ok so I'm new to this whole thing. I've been slowly getting some training in SEO but so far it's mostly been backlinking, blogging, article writing, etc. None of the on-site stuff. I've been reading around here whenever I can, trying to learn as much as possible and hoping that some day I'll actually be able to make some money doing this. But I have a few questions:

1. My page impressions are what I would call decent for new site that I can't find on Google yet (I don't think it's been indexed). However my Adsense clicks are low. I have ads at the top and bottom of each page. What is the best way to go about getting people to click on the ads without violating Google's TOS?

2. I haven't really gotten into any actual website development yet (should be coming soon) so I've been using a free site on Weebly and blogs like Blogger. Am I more likely to get better SERPs with my own domain or is it possible to get a free hosted site up to the first page of Google?

3. I've heard the whole thing about having either 1 site making $100/day or 100 sites making $1/day. I like the 100 sites idea. But how do you go about deciding on niches for each one and coming up with original content? I'm a fairly smart guy, but I don't think I have enough knowledge to create 100 niche sites without doing research on things I know nothing about.

Don't reinvent the wheel. Go to the biggest made for adsense sites you can find -- sites like associated content, ehow, ezinearticles, etc. -- and see how they position ads relative to the content. Then, you do the same. Remember that they have a special relationship with Google that allows them to get away with stuff you probably can't, but for the most part you'll learn how successful publishers use adsense.

I think you can get Blogger to rank well, but it's nice to have your own site(s).

Why run a bunch of different sites? You'll only have to rank each of them separately. When you have one big site that ranks already, new pages are easier to rank. Picture ehow or ezinearticles -- they don't have a separate site for each category, they just have one site with a bunch of different topics.

To find niches, just go to shopping sites like Amazon and see what their niches are. Or, visit ezinearticles and see which niches get the most activity.

    Good luck!

I know a few guys/gals that make good money with Blogger, the downside you can't sell a blogger blog.

The up side Blogger is 100% free money, why would I want to sell?

I have a 2.5 year Blogger blog that runs Adsense it makes +$100, per month, every single month, my last blog post was in Jan. 2010, & the money has only went up.

I do massive on page SEO, I never build backlinks, I let them come to me natural.

Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe the on page SEO is working for me?

I do have about 10 other sites that allow a dofollow links on my site in a widget. They link to me, so I thought I should do them the same favor. I don't allow anymore links on my site, the guys that helped promote my site for free at the start are the only links I'll allow.

I just turned down a guy that wanted to buy banner space a couple days ago, no thanks I'll keep my own traffic.
Between my blog and site I have ~600 impressions which I don't think is too bad (although I expected more clicks then ~1/100) considering I'm new to this and the blog is 2 weeks old and the site is just about a week old now. Of the impressions I've only gotten a few clicks. I suppose some on-page work might help. Google hasn't found the majority of my backlinks and I don't expect they'll actually draw in much traffic (just help my SERPs instead).

Thanks man, I'll take a look at those sites and see if I can set up my pages similarly.
