I checked my website's page rank at google page rank checker and discovered that my site's page rank is 0 of 10. I want to know why it is like that and also what am i going to increase my page rank? Members, i need your contributions please.

    Hi Sam,

    I wouldn't worry about PageRank if I were you. I can honestly say I don't even know what the PageRank is for nearly all the websites I work with and I do not have any issues with them ranking on Google.

    I am assuming you want to rank well on Google? If there is another reason why you want to improve your PageRank then I apologise.

      well man page rank is something that entirely depends on innerlinking { how well site is interlinked}of site and quality of backlinks ur site is getting from other sites. Pagerank is a measure that google has to decide the authority of a site. Higher the pagerank, better chances that google bots ll crawl ur site frequently.

        Sam, you need to optimize your page as stated above with links - outbound links, back links - the more linked your page is the more surfers would visit your site (at least that is the probability) and the more popularity you would gain. In simple terms, Google measures how popular your page is through those links and rank your page based on that.

    Well this probably means that either your site is new, or you are not getting enough backlinks. Start building up backlinks from directories and social bookmarking sites, you should see an improvement in PR in the next update.

    So, far I have experienced the best thing to increase page r4ank is to comment on dofollow high pr blogs that will give you some free backlinks.

    If your site is new than you have need to get strong back links so you can go for Directory Submission & Social Bookmarking and Article Submission. Directory and Bookmark will help you to get more back links and Article Submission will you give more popularity in the web.

    PageRank you see in the Google Toolbar is ALWAYS weeks if not months out of date. So you're looking at a mapping of your actual PR that is quite likely old. Toolbar PR is weeks old on the very day that Google publishes a PR update. So you're always looking at a historical value.

    Next is should be noted the a Google Toolbar PR of 0/10 does NOT mean your URL has no PR. It simply means that you do not have enough PR to have a PR of 1. Each jump in PR requires exponentially more link juice to be passed to the URL because Toolbar PR is based on a logrithmic mapping of your "actual" PR to a 0-10 scale.

    I wouldn't give it much thought other than to say, if you're really worried about PR then build followed links from pages on other sites that are indexed. PR is a measure of link popularity, and as such to increase it build more and better links.
