Could Use A Little Help

So I'm working on getting one of my sites ranked in Google and it's not going very well.

I'm using Market Samurai for research purposes and from what I can see, there is no way I shouldn't be on the first page for my keyword term. I have better keyword placement (title tag, h1 tag, url, and description) more links, with better anchor text, and a higher Alexa ranking than several pages that are ranking higher than me in the SERPs...

There are even 4 or 5 sites that are outranking me with between 0 and 17 backlinks while I have over 150, some of them from PR1-PR4 sites. Am I in the infamous sandbox or something? I did build the links rather fast but that's about the only thing I can think of. My site isn't totally off the radar it's just stuck around page 5 and is getting whooped by sites with no age, no links, and less content.

Help?

How old is your site? How long have you been working on it?

If you search your title by putting quotes aroound it you can see how much competition you have. You may have to change your titles. If the result comes back that there are zero matches, you have a winner. I did that and my artciles rank #1 and #2.

Have you tried selecting keywords with a global search value between 500 and 1000?
Adding "buy" or "review" to your main keyword could get you more targeted traffic...

Hey Warriors, thanks so much for your help so far...

@derek.ifocus My site is only about a month and a half old. Market Samurai is showing that some of the other sites that I'm up against are very new as well (under a year of domain age)

@LorieB What do you mean "change your titles"? Do you mean change my H1 tags and my title tags?

@franamico The keyword that I'm using is not very competitive at all which is why I'm frustrated with the whole thing. There are around 400-500 searches a month for this keyword and very, very little competition. I figured I'd be on the first page within a week at the most because there is so little competition. I'm getting outranked mostly by videos, questions sites (like yahoo answers and askville), and that type of weak stuff.
