What is your EMD Sucess Story?

I have had many sites that were using an EMD and they were in the top few slots of Google. I have had success with competitive (competing with high PR sites when my site was BRAND new) and non competitive alike. On some sites I used heavy backlinking while others not at all. Also, I had some sites that had only a couple of pages of content and still saw them shoot to the top of Google. How about you?

    Same here. They are almost too easy to rank. I am afraid that because of their ease of use, google is going to come down on them in the future.

    But until then, I have a few gems sitting on page 1 for their keywords with 0 backlinks other than initial social bookmarking.

    I'm much the same as you. Have a lot of EMD domains that seem to be pretty easy to rank although I did take a hit with the latest Google update in terms of long tail traffic.

    Some sites I put online quickly got to the first page of Google while others were well back. Now however, those sites that didn't initially rank well are on the first page of Google so it a funny way while the latest update hurt it also helped, however I'm not back to previous earnings before the update.

    At the time of this post I still have 16 domains that I have to build content for and I will get around to eventually but I'm always on the hunt for more!

    One thing that has annoyed me with these however is how far off the Google keyword search amounts are.....I've got domains that supposedly get 6000 searches a month and they don't get a tenth of that (and yes I know how to use exact search and country)....

    ^^^ You are right about the search estimates. I have one EMD on the first page of google for a keyword that gets 15,000 exact local searches per month. It has been there for a year. In a year, I have had about 500 unique visitors. Makes no sense at all!

      Where on the first page? The first three slots (esp. #1) get the lion's share.
