I have heard before that if you have 2 anchor texts on a page that go to the same page, Google will only count the first one he sees and ignore the second one. Is this true?

Thanks

It is a lot more complex than that. You can't really break it down to counting the number of links. Anchor text, content, the number of other links, the context etc all are other factors that count.

Who really knows unless you test it. Are we talking outbound links? If that's the case, the PR would most likely be split to go to both. I don't think they would change the system just for a duplicate link.

Well Google has its own algorithm and has many methods. They have some secret analysis for this and when they crawl a website and they know the backlinks of the site and also copied contents too.

Each search engine has its personal algorithm. Google generally count backlinks when the spiders crawl all the way through your website. I am not certain whether they count all the backlinks or not.

I don't think so. I heard Google consider all links on a page and divide the link juice flow with that number. Result portion of link jusice will transfer to the dofollow links. So if these two links are dofollow normally Google should consider both.

Google would count all the backlinks as long as it goes to different web pages.
