Simple question on video / Youtube marketing

Video / Youtube marketing is invariably a massive opportunity (recall hearing Youtube has like 2 billion views a month or something along those lines)...

The question is...once you've uploaded videos to Youtube...how do you drive traffic to it?

I get how it works for article marketing but what is the equivalent for video?

Don't think "upload, wait and hope" is a good strategy, obviously

Any tips very much welcome!

Do you send out a monthly newsletter? If so, include a section that links to your newest videos.

Post your videos in related forums.

Ask some power bloggers to use your videos as content.

I believe youtube now has 1 billion views per day. You can promote your videos the same way you would your blog/site.
Keyword in filename, title, description and tags, then build backlinks, make friends, upload regularly, get subscribers, do videoresponses,...
There are a lot of ways to promote your videos!

I currently have 40 videos on my channel and together they have 75,000 views. I have a link back to my site in the description and a reminder in the video to click the link.
After Google, facebook and twitter, youtube is my most important source of traffic. As my site grows and more of my keywords start getting in the top of the rankings I expect youtube to become less important as far as delivering traffic goes. I do not build backlinks to my videos. I just upload and wait

Im just really getting into "video marketing". So far my steps are upload to youtube and use as many keywords in the title but make it make sense. Then I post the same video to my blog (and that in itself pings other places) and then I tweet that I just uploaded the video onmy blog and now im pushing the video to TubeMogul.

For one video already im #1 on google for the keyword in the title BUT so far no sales back to my site so tile will tell.

Marketing your video is still basically the same strategies you use to market your site.

Insert thoroughly researched targeted keyword in title and some in description. This gets it top rankings for your keywords in Google and other search engines.

You can also start building backlinks to the video url.

many ways to drive traffic to your Youtube page.
      here are some of them:
      .
      1. Create a catchy headline as your signature to your video link at, say, your Gmail account, and send email as much as possible
      2. Create a series of video at Youtube. Watermark them. Then offer them as a free goodies with resell rights (no watermark) through your landing page.
      3. Same as @2 but give them away to your lists that give comments into them only.
      4. Make a post at your blog and give it a link to youtube.
      5. and of course, make it as your forum's signature and post valuable posts or replies.

      Hope helpful.

One method I heard a while back is to change your Youtube title and description every now and then to be found for different searches.
