Duplicate Site appearing in Index

Hi Guys,

a competitor of mine for a local search term is appearing as a dual listing for 2 domains on the front page of that term.

They have a site, that is 301 redirected to the new site. However, both sites are appearing as seperate listings on the front page of google, one on the new domain, and one on the old domain.

Is this something that typically happens for a while when 301 redirecting a site, or is there likely a problem.. if so how do I go about getting their 2nd site de-indexed.. Should I report it to google?

Cheers,

Nah, relax, they just added a 301 recently. The duplication will soon disappear from the index. You can actually ping the URL that is redirected: it will likely cause the duplicate cache to be dropped sooner.
