Footer links VS Content Links

I have heard that Content links carries more value than footer links, Is it really so? What's the exact reason behind it? Thanks in advance.

    If you create a wp theme and put a link to your site in the footer and offer your theme freely, you'll get lots of backlinks (assuming the theme has appeal). That's an easy way to get backlinks but the links are not natural (you had some control over the link).

    If a blogger posts a link to your site in an article he posted, that's a natural link--the blogger found something worth referencing in your site. That would have more value than a footer link.

      I agree with you that natural links are best links to get. But I have seen from my very limited experience that those links needs lot of time. In practical World, will such time be allotted by your client for their SEO projects, tell honestly?

        Content links are better because when U are having a link in content than It shows that something of value is referred in that content. And U will get more benefit from that link.
