Simple SEO newbie question?

OK, If I wanted to start a blog about myself would it be better to use:-

willpooleblog.com - Cheap Domain Name Registration and Transfers, SSL certificates, whoisguard privacy protection and free domain parking

or

willpoole.net - Cheap Domain Name Registration and Transfers, SSL certificates, whoisguard privacy protection and free domain parking (.com is taken)(The will-poole.com is taken as well)

I understand that the second option has the higher keyword density for 'will poole' but I heard the .com holds more authority, and what about .me and .co. Any help would be greatly appreciated :confused:.

Hi

I don't know if it really matters. Since your name is probably not well known, not getting many searches and I assume that this will not be your main keyword phrase this really doesn't matter much.

However, if you are trying to rank high for "Will Poole" than you should go with the .net as a keyword match domain will make it easier and there isn't much difference between the .net and .com - actually, the .org have more weight and will rank better, so if you can find a .org domain it would be better in my opinion.

Personally, I would try to get a domain name that is keyword rich. This will allow you to be able to rank easier for those key words.
However, I would reccomend that you buy all the available domains that you can. You can always redirect a domain to your main site.
