Links from articles directories

Hi,

Is it better to link to my site from articles directories with 2 links: the keyword as my anchor text + the URL of my site, or just one time with the keyword as the anchor text?

Thanks,
Steve

The url won´t give you much benefit. Put only the anchor text. Try not to have the always the same anchor text, so that it seems more natural.

If you are only trying to get backlinks from your articles submissions than use only anchor text and maybe put 2 links with different anchor text.

      BUT,

If you also want to get traffic from your article submission than you should use your URL as a link. I have read on several places that a naked URL results in better CTR so you should use that together with an anchor text link.

Why not do it two times for differing anchor texts. Or better yet, as I do, one link to page on your own site and one link to the main home page. That gets some deeplinking going on and passes link juice around the whole site if your interlinking is good.

It's best to try and do deep linking- meaning you should have anchor text pointing back to important internal pages. This tells google that your site has much more valuable info on pages other than the homepage. Plus it can bring you some direct traffic too. Anchor text should be one of your main keywords.

    SteveJo,

you can even use three hyperlinks with anchor texts in your Bio Box,
    if the directory accepts that.

This means, that you use three separate search terms ( I prefer
the longtail ones ) per article, which will increase your
page rank on three search engine result pages.

      Thanks.
But I heard that then the effectiveness of the backlink will be divided among the 3 keywords. Is it not true?

One is enough.. No need to work for getting two links from same website. you will get same credit for the number of links.

You can use two backlinks one for your domain and the other one can be for a particular page of your website.

First I would publish the original article on my blog. Wait for few days so that it will get indexed on Google and after that spin this article on a article directory using different keywords in the anchor.

To rank a particular keyword, which you have targeted on inner page, then do article submission. Use that keyword as anchor text and give inner page link. Also select second keyword from home page and that also target through the article submission. Do not use only direct url, that will not more helpful for your site.

Why are people saying to vary the anchor texts so it can appear natural?

As if google doesnt know that links from article directories are not self created to promote ones own website.

If you want natural link building you should not be using article directories.
