Ridiculous Google Ad Approval Time... You Won't Believe It

I have a new campaign with four ads pending approval. It's in the relationships niche - no drugs or anything "questionable". The ads have been pending approval for... OVER one month. Stupid. So much for having a campaign up and running in 15 minutes.

I've contacted Google about this using the pending approval contact form where they look at your ads, but haven't heard back.

Any tips or advice Warriors to get the ads out of this evil pending status I've been haunted by for so long?

mu guess is you wont get your ads out, if your talking the love doctor then sorry google is not handing out scripts for their patients anymore.

you could try resubmitting some new ads but my guess is they will never float.

It's not an article site nor has it anything to do with whatever "love doctor" is. NOTHING in the market, landing page, or ad is remotely questionable to it's appropriateness. Even if it was, the ad would be rejected instead of pending approval.

sorry just went by your post.

if you export your campaign to the adwords editor you will see there if the campaign is suspended.

I doubt I'm banned now. Other campaigns have been running for some time. I've followed your advice Pete, installed the Adwords editor, and the campaign is still "active".

The Adwords account is under my primary email address so there's definitely no email saying I've been banned.

This sounds like one of the cowardly ways G lets you know you've been banned. Try a new campaign, real vanilla...........no links to sales pages, no email capture box, just content...........see if you get approved. If you don't you may have been banned.

Have you had any other campaigns approved while waiting for these to be approved?

Hmm, banned, I hope not Frank. Just checked and the site has a page rank of zero (16 months old). Also, checked webmaster tools, and there's no crawl errors or malware issues. I've set up a new ad pointing straight to solid content. Wait and see what happens with that.

Well it's the 09/09/10 and my ads STILL have not been approved. I've tried to contact Google again, but haven't heard from them. Any last suggestions to get my ads out of "pending review" status?

Joshua is there any way you can create a new campaign in search that you know should run to test out if your account is working ?

Also i would use the help function then go to the section / ads not running but then select the get email help option and place another request as to clarification as to why your ads are not running.

I can say with reasonable certainty that relationships is a borderline topic that sits right on that grey line.

        cheers

re warning emails and notifications, they may or may not happen as some people are not advised at all, the account is just suspended and sits in limbo until you ask.

          Never had a warning email.

The account is working. I have other campaigns running well.

I managed to dig up a full form to contact Adwords support in my own language after submitting my last post in this thread, and I just got a reply. I'll share it.

Thank you for your email. I apologize that you did not hear from us in the
past. I checked your account and found that we are unable to review and
approve your ads under campaign '--' and ad group
'---', as we notice that your website
'---' violates our site quality and landing page
          guidelines.

We can confirm that your site has been flagged for Bridge Page violations.
Consequently, it was disabled for being a low quality site. In an effort
to offer our users a high level of quality sites, it is important that all
sites within our network offer significant value by providing unique and
relevant content. Our policies do not allow sites that aim to drive
traffic to another site with the same or similar information.

If you make changes to your site and would like to submit a site
re-enabling request, please respond to this email outlining the reasons
supporting your case. Once this issue is fixed we can review your ads. You

All I can say about that is pure BS. Bridge Page violations only recently came in. This has been pending approval for 1-2 months.

The site is filled with unique content and the landing page contains an educational quiz that links to a clickbank offer six or so pages in (I bet that one clickbank link makes it a bridge page). I'll be getting further clarification about this...

Sounds like your account is under review, which doesn't mean its banned yet.

Have you had any warning emails in the past?

      Google has enough revenue.

They can afford to be extremely arrogant to advertisers now.

I've had a few campaigns on permanent "pending" for no reason and they are too lazy or cowardly to come out state the reason.
