Ranking For google.co.uk

Hi.

I am on the first page on google.com but on the third for google.co.uk. My domain is an exact match keyword .com and the keyword is largely uncompetetive. The first page contains authority sites like Amazon with PR0 or PR n/a and with no backlinks.

I have on google analytics set the target market to 'UK', backlinks aside, is there anything else I can do to push it up?

  • Do Offpage optimization for UK .. Participate in UK based forums only .. It may lift up your ranking..

    • Hi Im from the Uk and notice similar results many times - it does sort itself out though as long as you have set your targted audiance to the uk within the webmasters account -

just continue with what you are doing and with time it will show your results geared to the uk

but yes a number of things you can do - but these may not be required with your website - I run a seo company in the uk and am on the first page for multiple keywords - my site is hosted in the states however many do say the following

      get links from uk sites
host your site in the uk

and of course without saying stick with Uk onsite optimisation such as spellings - so an example would be - optimization - optimisation

      hope this helps
  • Put yourself in Google maps with a UK business listing if possible. Also add a UK address to your site, even if its not yours! Anything to get more UK-centric.
