So I Ordered 100 Original Content Articles...

I recently ordered 100 content articles from an online company. I got the package where they not only write them for you, but also submit them for you to some of the top directories. A pretty good deal I think.

But here is my question...

Once I get the articles, and they have been submitted to article directories through their submission service...should I post all of them on my website as well?

Or would Google consider this duplicate content?

Pros or cons of doing this?

Post them on your blogs, I say. You can even build some links to your articles for better rankings.

So even if they are in article directories, go ahead and put them on my site as well?

Is the Google duplicate content thing real or rumor?

The articles that you are planning to put on your site should be little different that what are on article directories. You should also use content spinner if you are planning to put same article in more than 5 article directories because that will give you better results.

If they have already been submitted to other directories, do not put them on your own site. Yes, it will be considered duplicate content. If you want to put content on your website, rewrite the articles so that they are considered unique.

As far as duplicate content is concerned, it's not a "penalty". When Google finds something that it considers duplicate content, it simply filters it out of the index. It doesn't count against you, but it doesn't help you either. However, if you have a new site that's full of duplicate content, it can get you in some hot water.

And, duplicate content aside, you don't want the articles you've posted on directories to link back to a site that has the same exact content. If I just read your article and liked it enough to click on your link, I don't want to see the same thing again. Offer me something new, or I'm leaving.

Duplicate content takes place when you place the SAME content ona [website, blog, article directory, etc.] more than once.

For example; if you place the same 400 word article entitled, "How To Make Money Online With Blogging" on your site and then on 500 different article directories, that is not duplicate content; that is called syndicating your content.

BUT, if you place that same article on your site MORE THAN ONCE, with little to no changes, that is called duplicate content.

Having said that, I would make sure that this company provides you with either:

(a). The login for all of these article directories
(b). A log sheet of all of the directories they submitted your articles to

You just want to confirm if they actually made the submissions as they stated

I wouldn't recommend putting them on your own site. I tired the article directory articles for autoblogs and was never very successful with them....

Hire them to write some more original content for your site....

Google would consider it syndicated content, and there is nothing wrong with that. Especially since (I assume) you're going to own full rights to the content created, you have the authority to syndicate that content as you wish.

If you're concerned about the so called 'Duplicate Content Penalty', use the forums search function and I'm sure you'll find some good arguments suggesting it to be a myth.

EDIT: Giles, sorry! Should have read your post first as you also distingished between duplicate and syndicated content.

When you post them on your blogs remember to link from one post to another to get a good interlinked blog structure.

There is NOTHING wrong with posting the same articles on the directories and on your website as well. Don't bother spinning them, you'll be wasting your time.

Here's an idea: Why not post them on your own blog?

Heres another tip I learned about putting duplicate articles on your website. Create an introduction to the article. That way you can use the same article but it will differ slightly to the search engines because of the intro.

    Just my 2 cents
