Domain Name Ranking

I have found an affiliate product I want to promote. The name of the product contains 5 words and a total of 36 characters. It is available to register as a .com does it matter that it is quite long and quite hard to read when all together? I don't suppose anyone would ever have to type it in its purely for SEO purposes. Will it make a difference?

  • Well I don't think it should matter considering people Probably won't get to the site by merely typing it in directly, but rather through a different means, plus you're probably not considering branding people to the url and hoping for return visitors? Consider how infrequently you look at a url to a site you only visit once.
  • i say go with the long tail! Nothing wrong with an exact matching domain for seo purposes my friend.

    • first find out how competitive the niche is...how many people type it in globally in a month..etc...check google keyword tools and other sites.

  • The longer it is, the lower the competition for it will be.......Flip side, is how many people will type that many characters before settling for something less?
