SEO analysis

For on page SEO optimisation I've used the trial version of the SEO powersuite and am considering buying the full version. Are there any other tools which analyses your web pages and compares it to competitors which would then help you determine what tweaks and changes you need to do to make your page more optimised for a certain keyword?

I've used Market Samurai and found that good for keyword research, but loved the report on SEO powersuites offered which break down how well sections of my page are performing e.g keyword density, meta tags.

  • For on page SEO, the new plugin from Daniel Tan, SEOpressor, is pretty good. It covers all of the on page SEO factors and it gives you information real time about what is missing and what you should improve.

    • D Baker - I totally agree with you! Seo Pressor is insane! I've installed in all my sites thusfar.. what a difference!

The best part about it is - it totally frees you up to do all the offsite SEO mentioned in all the rest of the posts here in this thread!
  • I don't pay a whole lot of attention to on page SEO anymore beyond the basics:

    Keyword in URL
Keyword and most popular varient in Title
Keyword and 3 or 4 varietns in meta keywords
Readable sentence for description containing the keyword
    One H1 header with keyword
Keyword or close varietn used 2 - 3 times per 100 word

    And that's it.

90% of getting ranked depends on inbound links. Once my page is done, I build inbound links using keyword and varients.

For keywords with virtually no competition, you sometimes don't need to do ANY link building.

As the competition scales, so does the requirement for back links.

But going through all the effort of analyzing on page factors? Not any more.
  • What webdango said above. 90% of effective SEO is done off site. Just set the basics up properly as mentioned above, so it helps your off site work instead of hindering it.

  • backlink maybe is more important.
  • i dont actually use software to do SEO's and that...and yes, the success of a site is gain most of the time through good efforts in off page factor
  • Any on page SEO software is a waste of money. There are tons of free online tools you can run a URL through. As has been said already, on page SEO is not exactly complex.

    • If you feel good to use any tool than it's ok but personally I do my site analysis manually.
