Have just registered a site for a client (7 days ago) and been buiulding, optimising and building backlinks etc over the past week. Google's been and had a look and we now rank for the domain name search clientsitehere.co.uk - and it gives the homepage and a sub page beneath it.

So now I go to the search box and do site:www.clientsitehere.co.uk

nothing. not a single page showing.

Now done this before and once Google has been and we can see the site in their listing for the domain it usually works for the "site:" footprint search.

Have tried the site: search for other domains listed for ages and all seems fine so how can the new site be returned for the doamin anme but Google knows nothing of it when asking what pages they have indexed.

Ideas?

Give it another couple weeks before you get too concerned. Remember that Google uses multiple datacenters and one may have it, but the one returning your site: request may not be updated yet.
