Google Real Time Search

Just wanted to see if anyone has any specific strategies to cash in on Google's Real Time search: Google Realtime Search

Personally, just using for a few minutes I can't really see the logic behind the results.. the results being displayed are a portion of what really exists and it seems like they are even choosier than the organic SERP. But, maybe I'm not really looking at the right keywords or proper names.

Andy Beal has a parallel blog post about this, but I just wanted to see what you clever cats had to say about it.

Besides Alerts, are there any ways to exploit this for traffic or SEO value?

  • I think that there may not be much to be gained by direct traffic- but-

    I have a theory that Google & Bing are trying to incorporate, in their algo, a boost to sites that are frequenlty mentioned in the real time serps.
  • Well, whatever I search for in the real time engine, I see only tweets.

    So, for traffic, all I can think of is to tweet a lot your KW and URL.

    SEO? Not much I can think of as there won't be much of any algorithm to rank sites other than relevance (to a limited extent) and time.
