Hey Warriors

I'm having trouble following some of the advice I'm getting on getting a video ranked In YouTube (It's obviously far more difficult that some of the products I've purchased lead you to believe).

Well, I guess it's not following the instructions that's the difficult part. It's the instructions themselves. The don't seem to be working.

I'll load the video, place the correct keywords in the description and the tags. Not too much, not too little. And in like a week I'll have 3 views. And I'll pretty much reverse engineer the videos that are ranking and do what they're doing bu with far different results.

So my question is: For those of you who have been successful at getting your videos ranked (like on the big "G") or getting enough views that you can monetize the video, are you willing to share what your doing to achieve those results?

There are really only 4 things you can do:

    1. Video Title

    2. Video Description

    3. Video Tags

    4. Inbound Links with the appropriate Anchor Text defining your target keywords...

Those people I know who are getting huge view numbers on their videos are buying traffic, not getting SEO'ed traffic...

Don't forget the social marketing aspect of it. Make sure comments are allowed. Also, get on facebook and promote that thing. The views don't have to come from people directly on Youtube. Post it on your site and many other sites. You can use tube mogul or pixelpipe to also send it out, but that's not Youtube specific views you'd be getting, you would be getting more views overall. It also helps to have a good selection of videos on your channel. If people are watching one of your videos, they may click on others you've made, upping your views.

It sounds like you have been doing the right steps on the "Internet" level, you just need to do more of the "Marketing" part

Now, how to monetize? I see it as a tool to drive traffic to a site and then monetize at the site level. Maybe somebody else can chime in with how to monetize directly from Youtube.

You could use an URL shortening service to cloak an affiliate link and put it as a watermark in the video - just one quick monetization tip

      Thanks for the replies.

I'm not worried about how to monetize the videos, that part I can do.

What I need to know is how to get the videos to come up in the search engine results.

This is something I have been curious about, I have only just recently been looking into videos myself, I am currently adding backlinks to the video URL, will keep you up to date with my progress.

Hey, so are you trying to get the video to rank in the YouTube Results or in Google?

If you want to rank in Google then you need to submit to more places than Youtube. Also with Google's new caffeine alg they don't rank Youtube videos well because of all the money they are losing on the bandwith.

So, I own a video marketing company, and this is a common question. What people don't realize is that there are millions of videos getting posted all the time. So, its' a continuous thing.

Now, dont get me wrong, I've got some of my own videos and a bunch of client videos to rank quickly at the top of each video site like Youtube, and I've even got some videos to rank on page one of Google in like a few hours after submitting.

What it comes down to is the amount of research you are doing. Focusing on tons and tons of keywords is the way to go. Do a video for each of those keywords.

The videos can be simple short and quick. We actually teach people how to do these videos because they are so simple and work awesome.

I can talk to for hours on this topic, so better wrap it up, but there are really hundrreds of types of videos you can create but really they fall into 4 main categories,

          1. Traffic Generation videos
          2. Landing page/ Squeeze Page / Sales page videos
          3. Content Videos
          4. Montage / Client profile / internet commercial

Pay attention to only using one keyword in the title with no other words. Use only 4-6 tags or keywords in that section, and write a compelling description with the keywords.

          Hope this helps.

          P

SEO for video on youtube is not the same as SEO for a web page.
It's not about backlinks or any such stuff.

First, get yourself a youtube channel.

Then its all about letting google know what the content of the video is.
When people search for videos your video must be on that topic.

Google-compatible video tags are much needed today.
Just google it. They recognize facebook's and yahoo's.

Once you are in, you have three things left:
Views, views, and views. Get people to play your video.

    1. Always use watermarking. Look into traffic geyser for that.

    2. It's about quantity man. If you hit enough shots, one of them's bound to be a homerun. Or a base hit in the very list
