Is blogspot commenting good for SEO?Even though the comments don't show until you click on 'Comments' which redirects you to another link?for example the pr of the blog or post is pr 2 but then it changes to link#comments. Will the pr be lower since it's a different link?

The most important thing is that the comments are DoFollow. Blogspot blogs are NoFollow by default but can be changed to DoFollow manually but I would guess many blog owners don't know how to do that.

If the comments are NoFollow then commenting on that blog is useless for SEO - might be OK for click thru traffic though.

I forgot to say, to check if a blog is DoFollow, go to the comments page, right click and view source. Then Ctrl+F and search for 'nofollow', if no results are returned it is a DoFollow blog.

The question is..Does these comments pass juice even though the comments page is a different URL?

Every page has it's own PR. Google indexes PAGES, not SITES. The links will pass linkjuice if they are "dofollow". If they are "nofollow" they will not pass linkjuice, but that linkjuice is still lost to the site... if that makes sense. You can no longer (as of 2009, forget which month, June I believe) horde all your linkjuice by doing all "nofollow" links. Google will still crawl those "nofollow" links though and index the pages etc etc.

First of all you can check this blog Dofollow Or Nofollow. It is Dofollow so this blog comment diffidently useful.

It probably will be diluted as SEs see them as 2 different pages. You might therefore want to be firm beforehand as to the page you will start building links to. Don't we do something similar in this case too, when we 301 redirect www version to non www version or vice-versa for the sake of preserving the link juice? This works around the same context too.

If your comment is on a site relevant to your niche, it's good for seo.

    Try this...

Find a relevant blog targeting a similar keyword to what your backlink building for ok?

Then leave him a comment that will benefit HIS on page seo for his post.
Use his keyword, maybe an lsi or variation so that you ADD to his optimization and increase his content ok?

Then YOUR comment will be good for YOUR seo, AND HIS!...you might even get away with using anchor text instead of your name! Why? Because EVERYBODY WINS, not just you.

Try that, works wonders. 90%+ success rate when leaving links.

Blog commenting is extremely useful for SEO, ut you need to psot to the blogs with good relevant traffic. For example a useful indicator of a blogs traffic is to know their alexa ranking. I usually post on anything that is 200,000 of less. Not saying that a higher number won't be as good, but the lower the better. Also try to post 1st if possible and then at least 2 more times somewhere throughout the blog. Make sure it allows follow comments.
