A problem checking backlinks, can you help please?

Hello

I am trying to get an accurate picture of the backlinks to a particular page of my site.

There is a freeware called Link Popularitty Check, which appears only able to check backlinks to the home page.

An online program gives very diifferent results.

Can anyone reccommend a method of getting accurate results not just for the home page, but also for other pages on a site?

  • In Google, typing in 'siite:http:??yoursite.whatever' will give a good idea, however, not all are recognized by every search engine. Each SE seems to have it's own criteria as to what it considers 'natural'. It is not an exact science.
  • Yahoo explorer can show backlinks and number of them for your home page and internal pages. try it.
    Enter your website here and see results: siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com

      However, it will not show you all the links.

      Same as Google shaves from it's own reports, just not as bad.

      I like to keep a running record of all back links in a spread sheet so I will always know where my links are and sometimes even back link my back links.
  • even the yahoo explorer does not show all links most take up to 2 months to show sometimes.

    yahoo is by far the best, but there are a few out there which may find some of the ones yahoo misses!
