hey!
in my blog I'm using a SEO tool called seo pressor and when I try to add some external links in my articles, it doesn't accept them?
Can I know why and the role of this in SEO:
Please add rel=nofollow to your external links

That's not the role of nofollow in SEO. That's the role of nofollow in dumb-dumb land.

don't need to "nofollow" with internal links.

External links is a different story. Lots of good uses for "nofollow"

Most sites, like the ones you mentioned, "nofollow" comments to keep the spam down.

The reason why this happens is very simple. The tool thinks that it will save your link juice from leaking if you apply no follow to outbound links.

The truth is that page rank sculpting works no more and the only solution to NOT LEAK PR is to not link out to other sites.

You can no follow links when you suspect the target web site is not very good and may be using spammy techniques which will result in you being penalized for linking to them. You may also want to put no follow to paid links.

    Hope that helps

rel="nofollow" is the HTML tag used by webmasters to control Pagerank flow. If you want to stop passing on your PR to other external pages, you should use this tag.

Ideally, you should add rel="nofollow" to less significant, download pages, less reputable pages.

So, if I have an Amazon review site and have a link that directs to the Amazon product that I am promoting I shouldn't or should have the rel=nofollow?

Add the nofollow. Besides big sites like amazon are nofollow anyways. There is aplug in I think is called noreciprocity that makes nofollow links to big names like amazon, wikipedia etc...

In your wordpress editor for your post or page you have 2 tabs in the upper right hand corner that say visual and text. Click the tab that say text and find the link that you want to add no follow to and change it to look like this:

      <a href "http://www.website.com"rel="nofollow">your link text</a>
