first i want to say yes ppc is dying.... esp direct linking... but is it dead... NOOOOOOOO.... to prove this i set up a campaign that i created 15 landing pages for 15 different keywords... each one gets about 5-25 hits a day... converting just over 3%.... im paying 8c per click.......

to copy this kind of results use google research tool.... use common sense... turn on position and cpc for google... enter .03-.08 you have to decided which one is right for your niche.... find the niche keywords that will allow you to get in top 1-3 with .20 or lower.... and then TEST!!!!!!!

Get your results.... and look into what happened and why?

always split test... use 1 keyword per add group... phrase, broad, and exact match....

the most important advise is to track take in what happend... and why???

    • my account are rising in costs... all of them... even in markets with no one bidding against me... i would call dying... though its more greed on google's part... but i can still get cheap cheap clicks so who knows
  • I would say any form of affilaite marketing / ppc is dead very soon if vendors do not change the current ways things are done.

    anyone doing any form of ppc / affiliate is leaving them self open to suspension overnight, so if the vendors do not change then it is dead in the water.
  • CPC depends alot on quality score also, not just competition.

    • Direct linking in mobile ppc is very much alive, easier and more responsive.

      But it is still no magic bullet... test, test, test, track, track, track.

      This will bring in the coins and it is not something most marketer willing to do because it takes lots of patience.

      The amount of patience to CONSISTENTLY make money in ppc is, in my opinion, the same as when you are dealing with seo.

      I'm glad it is that way... imagine if it is a magic bullet... competition will be too high for anyone to make anything much
  • Well I cannot believe the amount of misinformation that gets passed around in regard to PPC advertising. Just recently, somebody started a thread on PPC claiming that direct linking was not dead because on their first day, they made about $200 and change. Well, I have a news flash for your PPC folks...enjoy it while it lasts because it's not going to last long. I'll bet my whole bank account on it.
