I have several blogs set up with exact keyword and phrases as part of a .com url and yet these sites are not even indexed in search engines and are outranked by pages merely references the terms/phrases. I have all in one SEO activated on my Wordpress blogs, but it doesn’t appear to be working for most of the blogs. On one particular site the www doesn’t show up in the address bar its just http followed by the url and I have no idea why the www is absent but have a feeling that its effecting the site’s ranking and this site uses popular words and phrases for something everyone wants more of.

Jon, your question isn't altogether clear, but this part is something you can change yourself, at the site of the registrar through whom you registered the domain. Technically, they're two different URL's and you can use them however you like - you could even have them resolving to two different places, if you wanted to. (Personally, I always set the "non-www" version to forward automatically to the www version, and do all my SEO for the www version. I may be wrong but I suspect, from what you say, that at the moment you have it set so that the www-version is resolving to the non-www-version).

are you talking about indexing or positioning in the serps?

What seo have you done so far on the sites? any backlinks? If there is no way for a google bot to index you then you need to push the indexing via rss feeds / pinging / social bookmarking etc

Hmm, your question is a bit unclear. Are you speaking about indexing, or ranking issues? If you're having indexing problems it could be a couple of things:

      1) You're site is blocking the search engines bots from crawling and indexing the site. In wordpress goto settings => privacy, and select "I would like my site to be visible to everyone..."

      2) You don't have any backlinks to your site. Most of the time wordpress sites get indexed on their own within a couple of days without any links at all, but it's always good to build a couple of links to help with this.

And if you want to change your blog from non www, to www, goto: settings => general, and change both URL addresses to the www version.

Remember, just because you get indexed, doesn't mean you'll automatically get ranked higher than your competitors even if it's an exact match domain. Sure it will help, but you have to make sure you build quality links with keyword relevant anchor text. Look at the number of incoming links to their specific page, and if those links are relevant to the keyword phrase.

Also, if you just set up these sites, it could take time to even outrank those pages since your site is not trusted yet. I've had many exact keyword domains hang around on the second or third page for a month or two, and then end up in the top 3 positions.

My question while not as clear as it should have been has been answered effectively. It was more or less a ranking issue my sites did not appear to be ranking in search engines in spite of my SEO efforts and the fact they were direct matches. But I guess it probably just takes more time than I thought that it would.
