3 questions about the future of Adsense Micro Niche Sites

Hello Everybody,

I bought a domain about 3 weeks ago. I had a good feeling about it, and I was going to build a micro niche Adsense site around it. I did my keyword research, checked the first page of Google, and everything was looking nice.
Today I looked at the first page again, and I was astonished to find a Adsense site built and ranking number one!!! My feelings were correct! It really was a great market ‘cause this guy was able to rank quickly at position number one on Google. Well I am not here to cry, you snooze you lose, so my first question is:

Would you still build your site on that particular niche?

-- I don’t mind losing the domain, it was only 8 bucks anyways, the only thing I am losing is the time I invested doing my research.
And my second question is:
This guy’s site was an EXACTLY REPLICA OF JOHN’S EXAMPLE ON HIS BOOK (THE YOGA MAT SITE!!!) This guy didn’t even had the trouble to change the colors of the site. I read couple of threads in the past that John specifically asked people, to at least change the sites a little bit, so here goes may second question:

Is the Adsense Micro Niche getting a little bit crowded?

And

what do you think of the viability of this market in the future?

As you said the market is overcrowded. But not yet saturated and I don't think it will saturate. There are still lot of unexploited niches.

Absoultely, You are better than the other guy, remember. Seriously, hehas just proven to you that it works. If I see the so called x-factor sites ranking high I hit it with all guns blazing. Serious mate, go for it.

IMHO, never. There are millions of niches when you factor in the sub and micro and mini and... Think abundance

IMHO I reckon it will/should last for ages. The thing is this. When people hear the phrase "micro niche site" they immediately think of small 1-5 page sites with 250 word articles thrown on it and a 360x280 adsense block.

I have a microniche site of just over 130 pages. Micro niche does not mean small. It means a very tight niche within a niche.
EG: Health and Fitness --->Building Muscle ----> Six Pack Abs ---> Six Pack Abs For Teens ----> Six Pack Abs For Female Teens

As soon as I lost the "small" mentality my sites prospered.

These sites contribute a neat chunk of change to my income and I for one will be not only using it for months and years to come but ramping it up considerably.

Think abundance, Lucky, and go for it my friend.

Yes. With XFactor Micro Niche Sites, once it starts making money, make that skinny site fat by adding more content. It will increase your revenue and even if big G define any rules against Micro Niche Sites, you can still be under radar!

One of those sites is like a beacon of light...with a little effort you know you can at least match him for the keyword. A lot of the sites aren't supported properly both on and offsite so are easy pickings. Make your site a worthwhile user experience and you will capture the traffic bouncing off the MFA site - until you eventually out rank it.

Thanks Fraggler.... That was my initial thought too.

When I see another adsense site in the top 10 that has an exact-match domain, I simply wish him luck and move on in most cases. There are just too many other great micro niches out there waiting for me and I don't need the mental hassle of fighting another publisher who got there faster than me. I guess I'm just lazy and like the path of least resistance.

Like erazer said, why on earth would you want to pursue that keyword when someone is already doing the same thing there?

There are literally thousands upon thousands of possible opportunities; don't waste you time on one that already has someone doing the exact same thing there - with a jump on you to boot.

I probably wouldn't buy the domain if I didn't know if I could be competitive in the niche. For example, if there's a few 10 year old plus domains that are PR4+ dominating a niche, I'll pass in most cases. But, it there's a relatively new site with a few forum profile links, well, that's a different story.

Yes, very crowded. It would be best to stay out of it and do weight loss and dating CPA sites and drive traffic via PPC instead.

There will be ongoing changes that will affect online marketing efforts, that's a given. Outside of government over-regulation and taxation here in the US attacking small business operations like ours though, I think this model will be viable, although perhaps not in the quite the same ways, for some time to come.

I say go for it. I know it sucks for them but I do this all the time and knock out my competition. Build twice as many pages as they have and send only quality backlinks towards your site. You'll be good to go =)

I'll say go for it man! Who cares that there is someone else is sitting on the first position, just few more good backlinks and your site can became #1. Besides that you already have a domain, why waste it?

I would go for it. Why lose domain because of someone already competing there? What i would do is just make title and description better to outstand competition.
