Have Gurus Lost The Plot?

This is an open post to all who are promoting the latest "guru" products. I have just unsubscribed from 7 mailing lists due to being inundated with the exact same email for the past 7 days. I know that we all need to make a buck, but these emails are just swiped from the JV partners promotional emails.

My respect for certain IM gurus who I used to trust has diminished. My belief in receiving value from these marketers with advice etc has seriously taken a battering. Am I just being naive or have all the great IMers turned to quick buck tactics at the risk of losing their subscribers?

Cheers

Nigel

It annoys me as well. I am always coming off gurus lists. It seems to be the guys in the middle ground that give the best value these days.

It something that I bear in mind with my own list.

  • Most of the gurus are interested in profits, they don't care about people. Big money can raise even bigger avidity.

I hate those e-mails too. Every product is a scam(well mostly). And they do not make such money as they claim, using that product, most of the money comes from e-mail marketing.

You are doing exactly what you should do. There is no other option.

In the past month it seems the "gurus" are promoting everything that is coming out, including some really crappy products. They are promoting different products in the same week and they still get top positions in all of the leaderboards so I don't think they will stop.

I always make sure to unsubscribe from those that only try to sell me every little product out there and from those that promote crappy products.

How do we know to trust what the so called guru's are saying? If it comes from more than one source is that a good sign its true.

This could be a sign of the times - The gurus need cash to keep up their luxurious lifestyles because their income has fallen.

What does that say about us (small flies) then?

I think you have hit the nail on the head!

When you first start out all that comes out of the "gurus" mouth is golden, but as the months (or years) go by you start to realise that they collaborate together to sell others products to the same people.

some products are ok some are crap but none are ever complete.

what we have to realise is that we cant receive a complete product because we have to add our own individual touch to each marketing method.

some things one person is good at another is not.

so what i suggest is to unsubscribe to most lists your on, stop buying products, and start implementing some marketing strategies you have learnt.

one investment to make is join the war room.

We are the guru's grounds...we are their pasturage...they make money off of selling us a dream.

There is no silver bullet. There never as been. There never will be. IM is hard work at which SEO and article marketing will always be central and they always will be.
