If you make backlinks with sites like Squidoo, blogger, and etc all you have to is copy your existing content to google translator and translate it to a different language and then paste it to another squidoo lens or blog. I read a thread where a person made extra money by translating their squidoo lens to Spanish, so I am pretty sure Google counts this as unique content. There is 50 different languages on Google translator, but it may not work for languages like Chinese and Arabic scripts. You still have many European languages you can use tho.

I doubt these backlinks would hold much value... There will be absolutely no relevance since (I'm assuming) you will still be targeting an English phrase and keywords with your anchor text.

Given how little work this would be, maybe it's worth it though. Let me know if anyone has good results with this.

Which reminds me, Google Translator is also a really good way to spin your content. English-German seems to work quite well.

Translate from English to German, copy and paste the results back into translator from German to English and tidy it up a little. You usually have some pretty well spun content - good enough normally to make your Squidoo content different from your articles.

yes, Thats True simontts. It is a way old method and still works!

google cannot translate the same article as before!

If google translate can translate from A -> B i m pretty sure he can translate form B -> A exactly as before.
Thats not True! May happen Some times but google cannot translate the same article as before! It is not a manual Process, afterall!

Even Google cannot place the symbols ([,],(,) etc.) on the original place after reverse Translation.

    Hey guys,

but isnt it a bit funny if you use GOOGLE translate to transform the text and then GOOGLE will not be able to figure it out ?

If google translate can translate from A -> B i m pretty sure he can translate form B -> A exactly as before.

Anyhow - no relevance will not get you far. But will be keeping an eye out on this thread to see how it goes

Works for content, dont think it will work for keyword related stuff though I am assuming as different language wont match any words you are targetting - is this just a traffic generator?

I think the thread I read was by Tiffany Dow. Where she translated her Squidoo lens to Spanish and made extra money. I am pretty sure the translator is not completely accurate, but you still get a backlink. Also I don't think there is much competition in niches outside the U.S. and the U.K., so the content doesn't have to be perfect.

Does anybody know what nonenglish market is the most profitable? German, French, or etc.?

You probably could do this on Craigslist, too. You could promote products on there in cities with large Spanish populations or somewhere like Chicago with a large Polish population. This should stop you from getting flagged, because they do not know what you are saying. lol

This is actually pretty novel. Good job. That being said - won't it get flagged because it probably won't make much sense (kind of like when people from other languages translate stuff into Engrish and it doesn't make any sense either)?

Translation, had it been successful it would have been hit around the net already, but i have heard it from gurus(!) that those sites when placed with translator plugins and all got hit badly in their SERP rankings, whether it is true or not, i am not quite sure.

The main idea is that all your content on web 2.0 properties you can change to a foreign language and get more backlinks the foreign traffic would just be a bonus
