Market Samuari - Domain Page Links vs Page Backlinks

I have a valid question that I haven't found anywhere on here.

It seems that I may of stumbled across a good niche but the Page Backlinks are beatable around 1k...the domain backlinks on the other hand are about 30k.

How much weight does Domain Backlinks account for in Google vs just the Page backlinks?

    I go for the page backlinks especially if the page does not have the keyword in the domain etc.

    Been working for me. One thing to note, it will take a little while to outrank that page but you will. Just be patient..

      You might also want to check the PR and anchor text of those backlinks. Obviously not using MS as it only will show 1000 backlinks max. What is the PR of that Page you are competing with? How old is the domain? How many pages does that domain have indexed (I think MS calls it IC)? Only one variable will tell you so much when it comes to your competition you might want to take a more wholistic approach when checking out your competition.

    Domain backlinks do carry some weight but as mentioned before, you should check the page PR and the anchor text of the links as that has more weight.
