I am a newbie and getting confused between keywords for SEO and Adwords.

Are they different? Do you need to have different criteria for each?

Is there a good software that will suggest keywords for Adwords?

I am currently using a free trial for Market Samuria but it looks like it is more for SEO?

Hello, MS has a new adwords / sem module component coming out / but no idea what party trick that will be, but currently in your MS you have the SEOV column, as a rough guide you could say that if people are consistently spending money in an area that there must be some $

Bottom line / as many will say / you need to test out your keys / ads / site to see what works best for you.

The keywords for SEO and AdWords can be the same or different.

For you to rank for a keyword in SEO, you need the keywords in the title, heandline and in the supporting content. You also need other factors like back links from other sites.

It can take a while to rank well for search terms with SEO. If you are having issues, you could try to target local search (location specific searches)

Adwords keywords require a different approach.

You need to target one keyword phrase, get your keyword in your ad title/body and create a landing page optimized for that keyword.

You then have to decide how much you can afford per click. If the keyword is very competitive, you may have to pay several dollars per click to get your ad on the first page of Google.

SEO and Adwords are both important but if you are just starting out, AdWords can become very expensive if you set it up wrong.

Keywords are the "words" or "phrases" which represent your website/its services. You want people to visit your website for these *K/w's*.

Now for a large part k/w's for a webpage can be same for PPC and SEO.

While doing PPC, u want people comin for highly targeted and selling K/w's.
Like for instance my website sell shoes along and also has some relevant information about these products.
If I am doing PPC for this website, I would use the k/w "buy shoes" or "buy shoes online" rather than "shoes review" or "best shoes".
Ofcourse my website is offering reviews on shoes but I as a seller may not be interested in users who wants just information unlike others with like "buy shoes" keywords.
    To answer your second question,
Google's Adword tool is best for k/w research. What else could be better than google's own database??

When it comes to marketing/selling stuff online...the CORE principles of keywords is the SAME.

In that you ONLY target keywords with commercial intent (i.e. keywords where people have an intention to buy).

The only "technical" difference between SEO/Adwords keywords is that with Adwords...you can target keywords with very high search volume in a reasonable bid.

Whereas with SEO keywords...if you want to see results in a not-so-long time frame...then you would have to add more terms to your original target keyword for less competition (or not...up to you).
