Backlinking A Re-Direct URL Will It Improve Page Rank?

Just want to ask, will building links to a Re-direct URL actually affect the site
that the URL points to.
So for example I'm building tons of backlinks for MyHowTo.com that re-directs to This_Is_The_Real_My_How_To.com
Will the link juice flow to the second domain and actually improve it's ranking in the serps?
