Hey Guys,
I'm pretty new to a lot of this but have learned a lot. I am trying to research some niches and figure out how much competition google has for them. The best way i can see of doing this is just typing the term in to google and looking at the number of websites that come up under results. I have heard you get a better idea when typing your niche term in " ". So for example lets say exercise is your college football is your niche you would check results like this "college football". Is this true? Or is do you get a better idea by just typing college football into google. Sometimes the results can be drastically diferent.

Let me know what you guys have to say about this. Thanks a ton! Any help is appreciated!

When doing research, type keyword it self for normal listing of how many general competition.

The more valuable result is typing "keyword" to see roughly how many natural focused search.

But what you should look at is intitle:"keyword" for competition! This is the site that directly compete with you because they optimize the site for the keyword.

    Why intitle means competition?

Because when we do on page optimization, title optimization is the first thing to do!
