Google instant will have impact on keyword selection (Difficult). But no impact on SEO.

Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing.. Instead of going after "how to speed read" , I could just do seo for " how to speed "

SEO is exactly the same, now you just target different keywrods, trends will be shown with serach data and we can go for high traffic words as usual.
