Seo Tip For Wordpress

Not to long I created a blog and I wrote 3 unique articles on this blog, and I've found that traffic is pretty much off of the charts, I'm ranking #1 in Google for the search phrase that I've built my site around.

And My site is a .info domain, I have only 1 banner on my blog and I guess Google likes to see that I'm also linking out to relevant websites in my niche , the websites I'm linking out to have authority.

So from my research and efforts I've found that starting your blog with nothing but content can help you, if you put links on your blog in the beginning, link to theme relevant pages in your target niche.

Linking out to articles, and places like Wikipedia seem to work very well!

.Info domains seem to work well depending on how competitive your keyword is, you just have to keep building more content, links and ect and you should be just fine.

It seems like the overall opinion of .info's are slowly evolving. I would still prefer a .com or .net, but if you are doing it with an .info that's great. Thanks for sharing your results. What kind of sites are out ranking.. backlink-wise and backlinks/page.

    Is it your exactmatchkeyword.info?

I'm out ranking extension domains for ebay, amazon, yahoo answers. I agree about the .com domains those work very well.

I'm using the exact keyword in the .info domain as well.

  • Google has always said they were TLD agnostic... so they treat .com and .info sites the same as far as rankings. However, other webmasters and searchers might NOT treat them the same.

I agree with Brad in that I still prefer a .com over a .info ANY day. I believe most other webmasters as well as searchers see .com sites as more "legitimate" than .info sites. Other sites are more likely to link to a .com naturally than a .info. Users are more likely to click-thru from the SERPs to a .com than to a .info. So it can affect click-thru rates.

I bought a dot info once. Ranked great. No problem.

I honestly do not think that the extension is part of Google's SE algo.

If it is, it is a very small part.

I would not recommend any autoblogging software. If you are serious about SEO for your site then create unique high quality content that provides value to your readers. Build these articles/content around keywords you discover using tools such as google keyword tool and market samurai.

In my opinion NEVER comprimise content quality for SEO as you will always win in the long term if you spend time generating useful and valuable information.

Thanks for the tips. I'm getting ready to start a new project and I have read a few times that it is good to start with content only.

My biggest problem is picking a niche that will receive enough traffic. The last two projects that I started I believe the search numbers were too low to begin with.

dont want to thread jack, but would love to add.

i have a TONS of .infos and love them. they rank just as good for me, HOWEVER
like some of you mentioned, do people trust them.
    so what i do is,
in the meta description, the first word i use is INFORMATION.
i truly believe this help on the click conversions.
People see the word information and then see the .info ..
    i just think it works.

Word press itself is a SEO friendly blog site. If you make a site using word press, your web site will come in google search engine quickly.

Hi thanks for the post it, a good start of beginners. I noticed you have a problem with your blog side bar. It appears after the content at the bottom instead of at the top right. You need to change your css file. I can help you with this if you want.

So you're saying you created a blog and only put 3 unique articles on it and some relevant links out to to websites in the same niche that have authority, then it got to #1 in Google for a highly searched keyword in a short time even though it was a .info?

Make sure you get an SEO plugin for wordpress and override the title and description meta tags. Make each one unique and target different keywords for each page.

But i don't think linking to other websites can help websites to rank higher specially if we started our website recently. By doing it some value of our pages will be juiced to these external links so how can we rank higher for the targeted keywords?
