how does alexa ranking affects google pr? just curious...

      PageRank and Alexa rank are completely unrelated.

      Google's PageRank is based on the link popularity of a webpage.

      Alexa rank is an estimate of the number of visitors that come to a website.
  • No it does not but it tells us about the statistical data of the site and its performance in search engines...

  • I have been told by a friend of mine on the forum that Alexa data was collected as part of what goes into googles ranking. Not sure how true this is because you would think that Google could do that with there own analytics however I dont think all people use analytics but all sites are ranked on alexa?

    As for PR though, no it would not effect the green fill thing they call PR

  • I believe Alexa get's their data from the Alexa tooolbar for different browsers. That is how they have statisical information about the most popular websites, and rank them from 1-10 million. Their information is totally independent from Google.

    • Wow. It would take some clever extrapolation to come up with anything like accurate numbers. Who has the toolbar? What is his/her demographic profile? Rough guesses to say the least.
