Link Baiting Techniques

So recently I broke through my denial, and finally admitted to myself that I suck at link baiting. I have about 10-20 people per day staying on my site for a long period of time for the past 6 month reading my material, but almost no one, may be 0.01% links back to my site.

Now, I understand that I am in specific niche where most of the people prefer to stay private etc. That being said I think that the way I present my material has a lot to do with it.

In other words I fail to make my material remarkable, or worthy for somebody to make a remark about it (Thank you Seth Godin).

Anyway, I was wondering if anybody can share some tricks they use to make their content stand out.

Thanks!

Perhaps its a good thing that people are not leaving comments?

Some people like to post antagonistic blog postings just to get people riled up and leaving feedback - in this niche I would not think that is the right way to go?

The fact that they are staying on your site a decent amount of time IMHO is a good sign

Content with lots of facts and figures and a few Aha moments tend to attract more links...

But your particular niche may cause a fear of ridicule, fear of offense, that may stop people from giving you links...

Have you been linking with sites in the same niche field as you?

Your subject area wouldn't put me off because for all I know you may be getting thousands of visitors each month. It's not like I would have to have a huge arrow pointing to my porn addict link.

Do you contact sites and ask if they want to exchange links? I receive several such requests per month.

Note:I MAY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD your point? Are you trying to get visitors to link back to certain articles? Or are you trying to acheive reciprocal links?

Also, I haven't clicked on your sig links. So are you a site helping porn addicts recover or a site enabling porn addicts to help themselves to viewing porn?
