Article Marketing/Backlink Question!

Alright, I've been thinking... I don't see a flaw yet, but I'm sure there is one... here's my scenerio.

I was thinking about this.... If I submit "article A" at a website like ezinearticles and get indexed, I can backlink to that article from other sites. If I wrote a new article, say "article B", stuck a backlink or two in it to "article A", then submited that to some websites via an article submitter... Would that be a decent backlinking strategy for an article to get ranked higher?

If there's a major flaw, please tell me and shoot my wings off before they spread out farther to just fall off this extremely tall building.

  • not a problem. you can do that.
    i had someone told me that they dumped a bunch of backlinks on an article once and it was instantly sandboxed, so dont go to crazy.
  • A better strategy would be to submit your articles to each site and then use spun versions of other articles to build a half circle and maybe link a few spun ones to the original ones.

    Vary your linking structure, don't do straight wheels and you'll see a lot more of positive results vs no results at all.

  • Oh, and one more question... In personal opinions, would this be as good as profile backlinking or is it like comparing hamburgers to tacos because they're so different?
  • They are different IMO. You need to diversify your backlink portfolio with several types of backlinks. However, I would for sure throw profile backlinks at some of your aticles/web 2.0s so they pass more juice to your money site.

    • Profile links are one of the best link builders around because they have good juice but also because you can build so many of them so cheaply. One profile link isnt worth much at all, but you can build 500 of them no problem via sick submitter or outsourcing.
  • Many people have great success by only using profile backlinks.

  • I don't know this guy, but I do know the concepts and application of what he's teaching... For an old crusty tech guy that's been in the white and bl4ck h4t side of the interwebs, I can tell from his copy the basis of what he's teaching... it works.

    There are others that teach this type of method, and of course without getting into crazy details I'll say that it likely involves a piece of software or two and getting REALLY into keyword research and scraping data, and identifying targets to go after that have realistic or worthy search volume...and some basic actions you need to take to tap into that search traffic.

    Sorry to be semi-vague but I hope that at least pointing you to a fellow warrior that's offering a course, with apparently very worthy insight, is helpful.

  • this would be an excellent strategy for your articles. always build backlinks to them they will rank higher faster.
  • YES!!! I do that myself and it works great. EZA has great strength in the google index and with some backlinks your articles with be just that more powerful.

    Also this helps your main site out cause those links from EZA article have a little "link juice" than they did before.

    Hint: Make sure you use anchor text for one line in EZA and the other link in normal spelled out format beginning using the FULL url that appears in the address bar of the browser. I have had many articles published on the other people's auto-blog sites and the content scraper used sometimes strips out html code which will render your anchor text link useless.

    However, the normal format is automatically turned into a link by the browser giving you some credit. No worry that you don't have anchor text pointing to your site, with google's Latent Semantic Indexing it will see the content surrounding the link and associated your site with those keywords.....So i have been told. But at any rate you have some kind of link that you get credit for.
