Tuning adsense for $/click
- SEO |
I run a site that has gone from getting low traffic to pretty decent traffic over the last year or so (~125k page views/mth). One thing that has become pretty apparent over that time is the $/click, CTR and ECPM has dropped noticably over time as traffic has grown.
Some of this is obviously due to repeat visitors (adsense blindness) and some of it is probably due to more internet savvy visitors visiting.
My main landing page is the biggest earner, with the interior sites contributing a minor amount (comparatively). If I could increase my $/click 60% on the front page (by removing low CTR ads elsewhere) then I could clutter the site less and end up in the same position.
1) How many of you have tried cutting the number of pages with adsense on them and then experienced a rise in $/click or overall earnings?
2) Does your $/click drop if your CTR drops? (i.e. do they factor in their display costs into your revenue share?)
