Hello everyone,

Could anyone answer to this question please?

Do I have to make relevant backlinks in the same niche as my website, or they don't count? Or even I can be penalized in some ways by Google?

Most of them, if not all of them, are not from relevant sites, for example, to my dating site, I placed backlinks and also in to the car's forums, and in to the animation forums... anywhere where it is possible to place them with my anchor text.

Please share with your experience and thoughts because I'm a bit worried about it.

Thanks a lot!

  • All links count, but relevant links are usually better. It may also depend on the strength of the sites. A link on a high PR non-relevant site may be worth more than a link on a new, but relevant, site with nearly any backlinks or PR.

Relevant links are better to get higher in Google PR, but as I know every link counts if it index.
