Google Analytics Tracking

Hi

I've registered a site at Google Analytics and received a tracking code I've placed on all the webpages, that's fine

But, have any of you tried to place the same tracking code on another domain and still get it to track the traffic, despite it's on a different domain?

You need to generate another tracking code for the new domain. New tracking code for each domain will help you track traffic for each specific domain.

I believe it will disregard any clicks tracked via the code thats generated for a different domain.

They specifically generate a new code for each domain.

I developed a new (FREE) PPC/SEO tracking system, go to lambdatracker.com to and enter your email and you will be sent the download link and install instructions .... Also increase your revenue with my Geotargeting script.

What exactly is the point of Google Analytics?

Yes, I know it will give all sorts of site info but isn't that info already available within your Google Maps/Places Dashboard and your Webmaster tools dashboard where you can view an analytical breakdown of sites and add sitemaps etc.?

Isn't Analytics just yet another Google off shoot with a control panel that you have to waste time getting to know and annoying links that arrive at deadends?

Someone needs to sell it cos I can't see the advantage of using it.

Why would you want to use the same tracking code on two different websites? Regarding IndigoJack's post I don't think the services you mentioned offer the same information as Analytics. Analytics allows you to see a day by day break down of youre referrers, traffic, search engine terms, bounce rates, average time spent on site, etc. As far as I know that information is not available in webmaster tools or maps/places is it
