Exitpop on a Site Getting Adwords Traffic?

I'm considering using ExitSplash or some other Exitpop solution (traffic regenerator?) to capture lost sales on my site. I get alot of traffic from Google Adwords, send them to a squeeze page (landing page directly from Google), then on to my sales letter. I know Google doesn't like exitpops of any kind for landing pages, but if I have it on my sales letter, so only those who opt in see it, and not direct Google traffic, will this negatively affect my Adwords account performance (when they find out about it) or is this a smart way around their dislike of exitpops?

Thanks for your feedback.

For that send them a email from the contact us section and get a correct answer from Goggle / it would not be fair to guess on it.

Google's TOS says no popups on landing pages, nothing about the rest of the site. But I'd have to agree with Pete, take no chances...go ahead and ask them. Too risky otherwise.

And if you get an answer, let us know!

    Hi all,

Thanks for your replies. I spoke with Google and despite the fact that their TOS clearly says landing page, they don't want any sort of popup on any page on the domain receiving traffic. Frankly, I think that's a bit ridiculous, because it could be a page receiving no Adwords Traffic at all, but they are the 800 LB Gorilla, so for now I play by their rules. I may setup a test domain and Google adwords account/campaign eventually to see if this is really the case or if it was just a broad, "safe" interpretation of the TOS by their support department (which is my suspicion).

Absolutely agree with you, it's pretty unreasonable of them.

Thanks for getting back to us on that one, much appreciated.

I'm not quite sure if that will or not. If the Adwords terms and agreement has no problem with it, then you are okay. You'll have to go through it once.
