Hello Everyone,

I have this site Leimo Hair Loss Treatments, Hair Regrowth for Male and Female in UK , as you can see there are no text on its front page, but if you were to cache text the page then it will show you the content of the website... by the way, we are using CSS to hide the text and cover it with the image.

Question: Does google penalized this kind of method? is this an act of black hat seo(hiddent text)?

Need your opinion guys!..please help me...

I'm not sure what you mean. I see a ton of text on that page. Otherwise, yes, it's a very bad idea to hide text on a page, and I believe it's against the AdSense TOS (i.e. people find your site in the search engine, go to a page, and the only thing they see to leave the page are adsense ads because everything else is hidden).

Beautiful website design btw. You've done a very nice job.

thanks for the compliments, Actually, the text you can see in the front page isn't actually a text rather than an image..... the content text is actually covered by the image text.....

    Hi Marie,

I think this article may be of use to you:

By 2005, many invisible text techniques were easily detected by major search engines.
I'd tread lightly if I were you. Even if you are able to sneak one by here or there, the risk of getting slapped or de-indexed isn't worth it IMO.

I looked at your page and compared it to your source code(which is what google really sees and cares about anyway).

      Your fine....Great Job.

I didn't see where the keyword stuffing came into play here as someone else has suggested. The senerio of keyword stuffing isn't implimented here anyway.

      Good Job...

If you want to a bit stronger with on-page seo let me know, there are some optimizations you could do that will tighten things up a bit more.

Definately not a good idea to hide text. Are you doing it for SEO reasons or for Adsense reasons?

This is from Google Support - they don't recommend what you are doing.

Hidden text and links - Webmaster Tools Help

Your site isn't that complicated (design wise). Why not replace the centre content with plain text and some css formatting? Get some ALT text in for your other images too, especially the navigation buttons.

i strongly believe if you are using black hat techniques to get ranking then it will harm your site. i just checked your site and you have hidden content and you are also using H1 tag in hidden. google will penalize your site so avoid this kind of stuff and remove them

I agree with Fraggler, the header image hides:

      HTML Code:
      <h1>Hair Loss Treatment</h1>
Deffinitely violates Google's webmaster guidelines related to hidden text. Like someone else suggested, just provide alt text for the images; also, you should include that H1 tag in the visible content below the header image.

Why don't you want to put that text somewhere visible? Are you having trouble stylizing the h1 tag? (to make it look better when visible?) if so, shoot me a message, I'll show you how.

      Update:
Also... just from a user experience perspective... the multiple blinking images, the pop-up (blocked by firefox) and the live chat popup is pretty distracting. Just something to consider.

Marie, I got your Private Message, but since i have less than 50 posts here, I am not allowed to send one back.

If you shoot me FTP login information i can do it for you-- it's a really easy fix. Just move the H1 tag from behind that image into a visible area on your page.

Style the tag using CSS to make it look like it fits on your page (match its color, font size, etc).

If you want to chat faster you can add me on skype (dan.sev) or my email is dansevigny [at] gmail.com

Anyone else that is having trouble with this is welcome to contact me as well.

    Talk to you soon!

We run across something like this all the time. Typically, a coder will take shortcuts and try to save 30 seconds by putting some text with a -99999 text-indent to add the text that is in the image. Not good.

So take a look at your CSS file for your site, and look for large negative numbers, -100000 , -99999, etc. and if you find it, I recommend fixing it – before Google spots it first!
