Does Google have a way to recognize if content has been translated trough Google Translate?

Let's say someone takes a PLR article in English that is already all over the web and translates it to Spanish. Would Google be able to tell and consider some sort of dupe/supplemental?

I suppose not, but you never know. Any experience?

    I don't have reference as hard evidence to be able to claim either way.

    But, I think it would be resonable to think that Google can tell. Especially since that have the translator to start with.

    Currently, unless I see evidence otherwise, I believe it is regarded as new content and not neccessarily completely unigue content because the translation creats a different demographic and market reach.

      If you want to be cautious, you could translate it through another language first.

      For example, if the article is in English and you want to translate it to Spanish, you could translate the English into French first, and then the French into Spanish.

      You will not lose too much meaning, especially if the languages are closely related, like with French and Spanish being both Romance languages.

        If you are going to translate the copy. Do the translation and create a static copy.

        If you use one of the popular scripts to translate the page on the fly and your site takes off, you will find the page gets banned in Google for excessive queries.

        I know this from experience, I had to take down my auto translation.
