does everyone have purchased domains or does anyone use free web 2.0 sites?

Was just wondering if anyone was using free Web 2.0 sites like Weebly or Webs for their money site?

Reason I ask is because I launched about 3 new webs.com sites about 1 week ago and still have't gotten any of the sites indexed.

I've used all the stops on them with no go:

Pinged the sites
Created 10 PR7 blog comments > rolled all urls into one feed. > social bookmarked the feed > pinged the feed

I also created about 100 PR3 blog comments for each site.

Anyone think of anything else that can be done to get the sites indexed faster?

Social bookmark the homepage + add google analytics code. Carry on building backlinks.

    Hope this helps.

Next time godaddy has one of their $1 specials get a domain name and then even a $2 a month host. Having your money site under someone elses control is not good and spending time and resources backlinking it is even worse. Satellite sites that help your money site to rank maybe - not your money site.

      I agree Mike,
You should always have your money site under your own control (host+domain), even though it might be easier to rank these established domains. Just build backlinks from these sites to your own money site.

Personally, i use these sites to get high rankings when launching a new site (just for faster traffic) as it can take months to get a new domain to rank well, for quality keywords anyway.

Definitely go with your own domains first, and use Web 2.0 as satellite sites.

Most Web 2.0 don't really like this though, because that's not their intention, rather it is to get people to build a lot of content for them, and in return, they split some of the revenue with you.

But think about it, if you do finally make $600 with Adsense on Hubpages (for example), you could have made $1000 on your own sites (Hubpages revenue share is 60%).

Also, you are at the mercy of the Web 2.0 site should they want to delete your page for whatever reason. The upside of the Web 2.0 sites is they may rank faster, but Google can also drop them like what they did to Squidoo.

I get my new domains indexed quickly using Google Analytics and submitting a sitemap to it. Takes a week or so but that's no biggie to me.

Interesting. I've built Blogger blogs on blogspot as well as on their Customs Domains. I've found that Custom Domains tends to get better rankings that blogspot. Theoretically, both are the same, it's just that Custom Domains uses your domain name. Yet, it's always taken longer to get my blogspot blogs indexed and appearing on the SERPs.

A new thread for me. Don't just purchase any domains you must think of the possibilities will happen first work on your own build quality backlinks from it, simply it is more revenue that you will have if you made your own site.
