My SEO Strategy - Any Feedback?

Hey guys, I'm looking for feedback on my current SEO strategy and want to see if there's any way I can make it better (or perhaps I'm doing some things wrong).

Here it is:

1) I use Market Samurai to get keyword ideas and find keywords with good traffic, low competition.

2) I then use Instant Article Factory to write a good quality article on that keyword and post it on my blog (on-page optimization is good).

3) Next, I spin the article and make sure it's unique and submit it to Ezine Articles, with a link or two back to my website, making sure it's anchor text is the keyword I am trying to rank for.

4) I then re-spin the article, making sure it's unique and good, and post it to the other main article directory sites: GoArticles, Buzzle, Amazines, ArticleBlast, etc... (a few of the main ones). All linking back to my site with the main keyword in the anchor link.

5) I create a bunch of Web 2.0 sites, like Wordpress, Squidoo, LiveJournal, Blogger, Weebly, Hubpages, etc... and then I post 2 re-spun articles on there, making sure each article has a link back to my site with the keyword in anchor link. I make sure to add a picture and perhaps a video. I make sure the Web 2.0 site is optimized well and looks decent.

6) Then I create some videos using either Animoto or Camtasia (a slide show video), with some good content on it, on a specific keyword, and then upload it to YouTube, making sure that it links back to my site.

7) I then use TubeMogul to submit those videos to a bunch of other video websites, all linking back to my site.

8) Next is forum posting or blog commenting. I find relevant forums or blogs, create an account, make sure my url is in my profile (and signature if they allow it), and then find related posts and comment/post, with a link back to my site.

--

OK, that's what I'm doing so far and it's my current strategy. I'm looking for feedback.

The other thing I am considering is Social Bookmarking, or creating links that link to my Web 2.0 sites so they are stronger (which ultimately link back to my main page). But, the thing I've encountered with Social Bookmarking is they aren't getting indexed by Google and they are being marked as "Spam". Any thoughts on this?

OK, SO DO YOU HAVE FEEDBACK/INPUT FOR ME?

I'm looking for feedback or input on how to make this better. I'm pretty new to SEO still and still learning. This strategy I'm doing it because it's what I've learned so far. Do you have any suggestions on how I can make this better, so I can rank higher and get more SEO traffic to my site/blog?

Thank you!

I'm no pro (yet, lol), but here's a valuable addition to your strategy:

Add any and all of your interesting content to Stumbleupon (and Digg, Reddit, Technorati for good measure).

If you hit it just right, you'll get hits into the tens-of-thousands easy.
This may only work on content that is very creative.

If it isn't working go make an infographic or something. (:

      Thanks for the tip!

I was doing that with SocialMarker, but again, the backlinks don't seem to be getting indexed and haven't been receiving any traffic from those sites whatsoever.

These websites all become your eventual competitor, their strategy is very simple "account for another organic serps result" and force the surfer to go to their website before your own website, they attempt to steal your surfer, before they make it to your website and succeed in around 90% of cases. (they are stealing 90% of your traffic and profiteering out of your unique keywords and as true "internet fashion". I actually "CAN" believe the general society got suckered into allowing such sites such power - it is a true testament to humanities stupidity, lol".

therefore, digg, stumbleupon, squidoo, hubpages, etc etc should be considered "leeches" and are predominantely utilized by new or novice webmasters who do not know that their content is ALOT more valuable on their own website/s.

Realistically speaking, had you created several spun and unqie articles and placed them all on your website, you should get just as many impressions, rather than spreading your articles across several high pr networks who will dominate your serps and in the end, make it almost impossible for your website to surpass them in the "serps".

Bascially, what newbie webmasters do is leverage the web 2.0 (sucker) stuff and fail to realize they are autonomously creating massive competition within their niche and keywords (of which other pros go onto ezinearticles, squidoo, etc etc and copy the content and modify and improve on them etc).

Correct online strategy from a professional perspective =

        Be moralistic.

        Be unique.

DO NOT LEVERAGE OTHER SERVICES BECAUSE YOURS IS WEAKER. MAKE YOUR SERVICE STRONGER - IF YOU GET PAST THIS HARD PART. You will receive alot more income than you can every make leveraging these evil "leech" sites.

FOR EVERY WEBSITES YOU ADVERTISE ON, YOU HAVE LOST A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER/SURFER.

But by all means, continue to spam-vertise on non ethical monsters and perhaps one day your website will receive 1/10 of what you would make if you simply focussed on your own website.

the reason you are leveraging these websites is because you have learn seo "online" and not from a professional mentor.

Correct technique is "unique content (this includes unique source code) so no "CMS" etc.

Do this and watch your profits sky-rocket with little or no seo whatsoever.

DON'T CONFUSE STUFF OKAY. Just do a frontpage (free) single page website with adsense code, put it on a domain and watch it beats your articles that you are "leveraging".

THANK ME ONCE YOU Realize THIS FACT. (you've been trained all wrong).

"just do content, do nopt do advertising and pr, it automatically comes if your content is up to scratch, also ensure atleast one theme based picture is unique and available on each article.

          AskiKaOwnzYou,
This is just the way that I see it. One method of marketing that proves this is if a person puts up an article on Ezine to leverage their power.

The marketer, in essence, is saying that they cannot get the traffic nor the rank for the keyword on their site so they use Ezine.

This is good since you can build a list from it. This is the same for HUB and other sites.

You make an excellent point and we need to think more critically and realize that we are in essence creating competition for ourselves.

Recently I realized I want the good content on my site and send an article to Ezine that is mediocre but will give me the keyword anchored backlink.

          What do you think?

            What do you think?
CORRECT: These websites are saying to you "you are weak and pathetic and we are big giants because we managed to sucker enough morons to create unique content for ourselves because they where initially too dumb to work out that they could create their own website/s and eventually would BYPASS US.

So basically, ezine, etc have now taken over many niches due to their initial "stupid" author database of users.

So yes, it is ESSENTIAL to leverage these services if you do not know what you are doing online or do not have a solid "web-traffic" (quality traffic) serps based website/s.

I will tell you from my 16 years in industry perspective though:

Look, I have been online and found many a-holes that have either fraudulently and/or ethically taken over certain long-tails that I may have created millions for myselves, they have then used automated B-HAT seo on my websites (one press of the button from them) which then takes me 2 years to reverse engineer, work out who did it and sue them 9HOWEVER FOR TWO YEARS MY SITES PR IS DEAD AND I RECEIVE NO SERPS).

By leveraging ANY site online (not just article, but bookmark, etc etc), you get picked up by FULLY AUTOMATED $1,000,000 software/s and fully tested, if they see something they like, you're a goner. I no longer want to nor need to deal with competition.

I will set up anonymous websites that cannot be tracked to one another once I know one is succeeding in a particular long-tail, because I use custom tracking analytics. so my competition (THE WORLD) may find it hard to trace my success and therefore loose interest.

            that's the "gist" of it.

I cannot elaborate on my strategy unfortunately, all I will tell you is that for every ezine articles that gets considerable traffic, there are 200 copycats who will reverse engineer your article, find your ranking keywords and steal a piece of your pie.

If the content was left on your website, perhaps no one would ever reverse engineer your keywords because they would have to type into google the "longtail keyword/s" you are ranking for and then there would be no need for them to bother reverse engineering your site.

"because they where already in your market and knew about your keywords anyway..."

HOWEVER - if you simply only submit to the top search engines, your website could make a KILLING for certain keywords...

"then you could scale the project" - MAKE TEN WEBSITES, ALL FOCUSSED ON THAT LONGTAIL - TAKEOVER ALL TOP TEN SERPS - HOWEVER ANONYMOUSLY. So do not allow any "1" website to be traceable to you. (ten different people, ten different hosting account - the whole nine yards...)

Then you could keep this long-tail, theoretically for life, unless some pro webmaster catches on and enters your market.

By not submitting to ezine, etc - you leave those websites for that serps untouchable - they only grow stronger and the only hard part in doing this is getting your "non seo" website (your first one) into the top ten serps, then a long period may occur while google determines it's worth (slowly) or you can increase this by backlinking from your other websites (still without being tracked from enemy webmasters).

The faster you get traffic to your website (through your other websites) the faster google REALIZES it has worth (people spend much time, many page views, etc etc) AND RANKS THE SITE ALOT HIGHER ALOT FASTER.

It keeps "steam-rolling" then until you reach #1....

Now if you had used "ANY LEVERAGING WHATSOEVER" then some pro will find out - and some pro will compete with you and you have just invited every single nooblet online to kill your serps "come here guys, come scr-w me please"...

So I guess you could call me a "ninja" (actually goju-kensha) webmaster.

Someone who hides in the "FOG OF WAR", makes his own websites busy and is untraceable lol...

"FREEDOM AT LAST - MY LONG-TAIL KEYWORDS DAMMIT, ALL MINE - HEHE".

How did I get this "paranoidally smart"?

Very simple really "Strategy gaming" lol. Taught me alot about enemy psychey.

People are going to "dominate you" if they sense weakness, however if they do not know you are there in the FIRST PLACE - they cannot attack you, can they

Hope this helped, however if you are used to getting thousands of daily impressions through leveraging, then by all means, keep it up if you only work in "saturated markets" anyway.

However for professional webmasters who want to create "real-long-term" profits (that only grow in popularity for several years.

I highly reccomend not leveraging in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER.

              What!?

Everyone has there own approach I agree,

It's early maybe I mis read something so pleas correct me.

              • Stay away from WEB 2.0?

Never. Maybe for a NO competition keyword you dont have to post articles for exposure, but if there is any competition there is almost NO way you will be successful in gain ground with search engines.

Now I am not saying I totally disagree with you because if you are promoting sugar coated lollipops you are not going to want to start posting sugar coated lollipop articles all over the net. Get some ideas where sugar coated lollipops could be included in the article even if just once and use that one term as anchor text back to your site.

The article could be about anything including a six year old girl's birthday party where she recieved sugar coated lollipops. It doesn't take away any of your intended traffic, and it may just get you another customer thats interested in sugar coated lollipops.

              • FOR EVERY WEBSITES YOU ADVERTISE ON, YOU HAVE LOST A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER/SURFER.
If you posted a sugar coated lollipops article on ezine then yes, but you obviously do not understand the power of domination and owning the first two results pages.

              • digg, stumbleupon, squidoo, hubpages, etc etc should be considered "leeches" ????

WHOA, WTF? the link goes directly to your content and these sites are probably more trusted than any of yours. Not to mention do you have any idea how many non marketers actually use these sites?

              • Correct technique is "unique content (this includes unique source code) so no "CMS" etc.

PFFFFFT. I can use wordpress with little competition words on three articles and have the entire 20 page site indexed in the next 3 hours and yes I speak from personal experience.

              • THANK ME ONCE YOU Realize THIS FACT. (you've been trained all wrong).

uhmmmm.... NO. Maybe you learned wrong and then a better way down the line. But I still fail to see your logic

              • just do content, do nopt do advertising and pr, it automatically comes if your content is up to scratch

OMG WTF? Have you ever tried to seo a word with more than 100 competitors? I am thinking not with that response.

              • also ensure atleast one theme based picture is unique and available on each article.
The one thing you said that I do agree with

They guy asked for advice don't fill him with fluff

Sounds great but one word of advice about submitting to Ezine then posting to the other top sites.

I would wait until the Ezine article has gone live before posting to the other top directories because I've ran into the issue where my articles would get denied under human review because of duplication.

Or you can write one article specifically for Ezine and write another and spin that one up for other top article directories.

Good strategy overall. I would add three things here.

      1. Write a couple of press releases if your sites are newsworthy. Good PR writers can make things press-worthy even if they don't look like it at a first glance.

      2. Use blog posts on private networks and article syndication systems.

      3. Do RSS if that makes sense in your case.

I suspect where people are finding bookmarking isn't very effective is that they are being done from same IP address which becomes a red flag to Google when a large number show up.

I am a free member of socialadr where we share each others bookmarks.

Another step in getting more from your same content is to create a slide show and PDF.

I use a fiverr to do both as well as submit them to five slideshare sites and five document sharing sites.

Doing what I have described and one press release submitted to 11 free press release sites has had it show up in 700 places on the internet.

Had a fiverr submit to the press release sites.

        Hope that helps,

I would recommend you to use article submissions.. Write a very high quality and keyword optimized article and submit it to ezine articles with anchor text as a main keyword you are targeting.. After getting approved, spun that article into 10-20 articles with 50% uniquess (using any software) and submit those spun content to other high PR article directories..

Article directories are great day to get clicks as well as high quality backlinks..

There are a lot of different strategies for SEO. I think what you have to look at is what works for you. I suggest you track and test.

Personally I'm not a big fan of digg, stumbleupon, squidoo, hubpages, etc. They tend to fall in and out of favor with Google from time to time and you never get any warnings from Google. I think your time is much better spent writing good consistent content on your blog, mixed with a good well rounded backlinking strategy which consist of nothing un-natural looking and some guest blogging. Don't go out and focus on too many high pr sites or a majority of .edu or .gov links. Google looks at what is natural!

That being said what are your results like? Are you getting pages indexed quickly? Ranked for your keywords?

Jerry West is coming out with his updated Google Best Practices Guide next month. You might want to Google him and check it out when he releases it. It is the best SEO guide out there in my opinion.

Yeah, I haven't been using Instant Article Factory's templates much, because it found another one on the ezine articles and said it was duplicate content. So instead what I do is create my own template (own article), and then add all the spin variations that I can with it... it makes it maybe about 20-25% unique. Then I submit it to all the directories. Been getting approved everywhere so far. I talked to Ezine Articles and they said it's OK to have duplicates out there, as long as your name is associated to it.

i'm planning on getting The Best Spinner as soon as I get windows on my Mac.
