I know that G doesn't see ALL the backlinks...but the half at least!!

Instead my backlinks seems to not exists at all...and I'm building them since MONTHS with web2.0, blog commenting, forum profiles and posting, article marketing, blog networks and so on!!!

here some example, checked with yahoo:
Secrets to Dog Training Review - Customer Feedback --> 4!!!
ranking #7

Sonic Producer Review: Should You Buy It? ---> 7!!!
ranking over 100

Farmville Secrets Review: Should you buy it? --> 235, more than half only from one site
ranking #8

and I can go on and on.

Can anyone please tell me what's happening?

I have articles with 60+ backlinks and only 3-6 appear on google.

This is the case with google...they simply just don't show them. I've got one site with over 2,000 links and google barely shows 20...but my rankings have gone up.

Only Yahoo, Bing, and the smaller players show backlinks. Google wisely doesn't for obvious reasons. Manipulation is bad enough, if we saw our Google backlinks it would only get worse...

Sometimes Google just hasn't updated to reflect all of your latest backlinks. It can take a month for a new page to get crawled again.

Don't sweat about it. Google only seems to show the really high PR links, but they do take notice of all links. I have a PR2 site where I have built about 100 links but only 5 show. Just ignore what they show and keep going.

      Good luck!

    Yeah - ignore it.

It's nothing to do with indexing, timing, Google dances or anything else - they just don't like showing links because they know people use them as a way to try and trick them.

It's actually a good thing - it also means your competition can't easily tell where all your links come from either.

There's also a big difference between Google indexing them and showing them. Don't sweat it!

I have a client site that Google says there are 3 links to on a good day, but they're number 1 for over 20 of their chosen keywords in the search results - if you're getting improved rankings for your link building - stop worrying about why Google won't list all your links when you ask it - they do count towards your search position and that's really all that matters.

You're not missing anything and it's not a stupid question - I imagine there are a lot of people wondering the same thing, but just keep getting links and don't look over your shoulder for Google to list them.

    nothing to see here.

It does seem as if Yahoo is doing the same thing, showing only a handful of backlinks. Just keep building more because they do know they are there. You may see some of your keywords climbing in the serps, that's what to look for, not the number of backlinks showing.

I concur with most of what has been said already. The best policy is to keep building them, especially quality, relevant ones when possible. Even Yahoo! and Bing don't show them all on their reports.

I have sites with 100+ links and only a dozen or so show up with Google and 60 or 70 of them on Yahoo! Thing is traffic stays consistent or grows and CTR is increasing as well as SERP position for my keywords, so if they don't show I just keep doing my thing.

I think it all boils down to the search engines playing their cards a little closer to their chests to keep the manipulation level in check. And some of it is probably just to keep webmasters on their toes, because..well because they can and there's not much we can do about it.

Some nice sites here to check backlinks.
Ok so a question then. I have submitted my site to 3 way links that builds links slowly over time (4-6) a day. At the moment they tell me I have 25 links pointing back to my site (I can see these links if I go to these websites and look at their links page) but when I use a tool like Market Samurai, or one of the above sites, I only see 8 links (and they are only the ones that I have added myself). Is this just a case that I need to be patient? My site is only about 10 days old

In Google check the backlinks Google Cache, If the backlinks Google Cache displays your url/anchor-text, then Google knows about the backlink & is counting the backlink.
      Yukon,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the best way to get Google to crawl the backlink pages?

Is pinging the page sufficient or submitting the URL via the Search Engine URL Submission page recommended?

Would one of these methods be the best way to go, or are there other, more efficient ways to do it.

      Thanks.

    Great suggestion from yukon.

And to answer the original question, not every backlink will show up in Google, most of the time. Google itself decides what backlinks it will take notice of when you check their analytics, so don't beat yourself up over it.

But little tricks like yukon's are good to know.

I am going to say the obvious thing here, the reason they dont "see" your links is because they dont want to see them, that is the trouble with google, us average marketers dont fit the bill for the corporate giant accounts that google wants to work with if you had that kind of money your website would be at the top.

Sadly google is commercialized to the point of saturation, I get more traffic from other search engines like bing and yahoo than I do google, mostly because google has sold its soul to corporate america.

Still its worth trying, if you can work the magic you can still see the result or organic traffic, if your links are not being seen examine why that is and discover a method that works better than the one your using now.

Google shows a site that Yahoo says have 3K+ back-links as having 20, in Google web master tools it lists 4,500 with links to the pages the links are on. What they tell back-link checking sites and what they use, me thinks are different.

You cant see the backlinks because Google DOES NOT WANT YOU to see them. This is just an immoveable factor in our business - Google will hide certain things from us (because it is in thier interests to do so). The tools previously mentioned are good to do a bcak link check, but the main thing is to stick to the plan - whatever your plan is- and dnot get distracted by things that are out of your control. good luck!
