Let's discuss outrageous CPC keywords.

Can you...get a site ranking for one of these keywords??

Check this out...

I want you guys to share some super high CPC keywords here...I think it would be fun to see if anyone can find a higher CPC than that.

Post your findings. If you can rank for these keywords, you can make a lot of money online

Well.. i ranked for 10x more competition, maybe even 15x more. I just wonder if those numbers are real. Google numbers are not so accurate, at least search ones. I am #1 for a keyword that supposed to have 500.000 searches a month and i get 100 clicks a month

Very true. I did the same thing with site a few months ago.

Doing some keyword research...came across a 17,000 exact match searches, with a competition of less than 7,000! Guess what, I'm ranking number 1 for the term now, and getting only 500-800 visitors per month.

Good description and title too...the traffic just wasn't there.

Oh yeah that happens all the time. I rank #1 for a keyword that shows 4000+ exact matches with the new keyword tool (used to show 12000+ in the older tool) and guess what, I get around 5-10 visitors per day with that #1 ranking - it is so inacurate.

The problem is elsewhere. Cool enough that Google is inaccurate - but then, who is accurate? Probably none. And that is where Google gets away with its apparently shoddy job on this aspect.

Really, i very much doubt 300 people a day search for [extended stay]. I think 90% of users never use [] with searches. Have you ever?! At mostly i use "", but almost never []

Lol. That doesn't mean how many people are searching for those terms in brackets or quotes.

      Hi Omar,

Why would you think that anyone would ever use [] (brackets) during a search? Exact match keyword data has nothing to do with using brackets or quotes around search terms.

You may want to read Google's definition for those types of keyword data terms:

Yea, you are right. Maybe because i am used with searching using ""

Probably none... I usually look at both google numbers and wordtracker, and make some kind of average.. though i am sure i am not even close to truth.. Maybe if i rank #1 for many more kws, i can try some statistical approach.. see what google say and what i get and then try to see if can be extended to other keywords...

I personally do not think those numbers are going to be accurate.

You might get some nice clicks, but I wouldn't expect triple or even double digits per click.

Even 2 to 3 dollars per click is amazing however, most of my niches are in the 20-60 cent range, with some rare big clicks here and there.

First off, that CPC is for the search network not the content network. And there is no way to determine what ads will show up on your sites. You can write content around those keywords, but there is no guarantee that you're going to get ads from the same advertiser.

Nobody, and I mean nobody is paying anywhere near that amount of money on the content network.

Going after keywords based solely on CPC is not a good idea and it actually encourages new publishers to build websites based around a bad idea.

It is certainly a good idea to take CPC into account when building a website, but there are many more determining factors that come before CPC in my opinion.

This is a very very very true point. Back in 2005 when I was first getting into internet marketing I also tried my hand at targeting high paying niches in order to earn more money on a per click basis.

I found many times even though I was targeting the exact keyword with my content and on-page SEO as best as possible, many times I would not get the ad I was going for to appear on my site.

Regardless, It can be effective, as one website I made targeting an expensive search term does in fact get $1.00 - $2.50 per click on a regular basis, much more than per click than some of my other websites. There is nothing wrong with finding niches this way.

Even 2 to $ 3 per click wonder, however, most of my niches are in the range of 20-60 percent, with a few clicks here and there some of the key.

      Hi there,

I am currently on an adsense campaign using blogger. Just 1 question to you guys. What if Icreate a free blog using this keywords and target the relevant ads from adsense? Of course I will not earn $300++ from extended stay. That is what google earns from the advertisers and it is in the average right? (Correct me if im wrong)

If so how much do you think i will earn with extended stay per click? I am curently having 5-10 clicks a day with no SEO, no SE traffic, no black hat, just manual traffic... It doesnt mater what niche I go after i will still get the 5-10 clicks daily.. I just need to know how much wil that range of 1 click from "Extended stay" does anyone know? will it pay Dollars instead of cents??

      thanks anyone who replies..

        Read Jesse Keremer's response above.

CPC is mearly what advertisers will pay via search engine traffic. The content network works differently, and you get a percentage of whatever the CPC was for clicks.

There's no way to tell, for sure the CPC of adsense on the content network, but the CPC via search engines is always a good indicator that it does pay well, in one way or another.
