biggest PR update delay ever?

Since they updated the official PR in April for the last time, isn't this the biggest delay so far?
I know there is no schedule for that but usually it's every 3-4 months or 4 times a year as stated by Matt Cuts as well.

Does anyone have any info or suggestion about what might be the case?

p.s.
Before someone says as they say in every PR thread, yeah PR doesnt matter much, i'm just asking

Word on the street was around the 20th, ie around now.

However with Google instants just launched I wonder if they will hold off on it, or perhaps, just maybe they will ditch toolbar PR altogether and set so many people free from the obsession.....

This is what some people have been suspecting. Google had made a radical change to their PR algorithm that were just not credible to many sites, such as the warrior forum. As a result of this, they have held off a major export of these values.

You have absolutly no idea if that is the case or not. Why spread such unsubstantiated information?

Why have any threads or posts about PR at all? Why have a forum at all if you cannot discuss things openly? Why participate in any forums or any discussions?

Nobody except those who work at Google knows what is going on. If you apply this criteria, then the majority of threads and posts on this forum can be considered as unsubstantiated information as well.

Exactly. So why did you make such an authoritative statement about what was happening when you have absolutely no idea about what is happening? What were you hoping to achieve by making such a nonsense statement sound like a fact?

Why did you not say something like "My wild and totally unsubstantiated guess that has no basis in fact is ...."

Read my post again. This is what I wrote

"This is what some people have been suspecting. "

This does not sound authoritive to me. You purposefully omitted that part when you quoted my post. This point was originally raised by another warrior member "gameutopia" and I also saw it discussed in DP and elsewhere.

By the way, even if it is totally wrong, does it even matter?

I just can't how anybody could be harmed by it, unlike threads on issues like duplicate content, aged domains, multiple ip hosting etc.

If you don't like reading PR threads and don't like other people's opionions, just stay away. I agree with Paul, just get it!

Google has not given any big update from a long. But it had a small PR update in the beginning of September. As per this next PR update can be at the end of November

ah you can't start a thread about PR, without at least few guys explaining how it doesnt matter.
It DOES matter, just not directly corelated to SERP.
    - It matters about how often and how deep your site is indexed/crawled (the more pages from your sites google knows about, more traffic you will potentially get)
    - It represents link popularity, quantity and quality of your links, and this is a factor for SERPs, just not the only one...

so it does matter big time, just not directly

Couldn't have said it better myself. Sometimes Pr can make you aware of thigns such as if someone hacks your website and puts a lot of code making you link to viagra offers or something google will de-value your PR because your linking to risky areas. Seeing your PR go from 2 to 0 can enlighten you that something is terribly wrong.

      PR does matter. Directly.

This nonsense is not directed to PR, but the constant trembling
      of no PR update.

      Get over it.

I'm curious as to what all the PR worriers would do if indeed it was removed from the toolbar. I could care less if and when PR updated up or down again. PR has no effect on SERP.

I think google will only answer this one. There is always an delay on updating PR there's no doubt for that the only thing that we can do is the right action optimized well your sites.

Do not fret about the PR in the toolbar, simply focus on marketing your site by building quality content and decent backlinks.

It's been a long time since the last update. Work on your site and have it to 5 instead of 4.

Pretty crappy that Google seems to be running the online world.

I have no idea if this is anywhere near accurate to what the google pr bar will update to but if you really want an idea if you have moved up or not you could try "majestic seo's" ranking numbers, they go on a 0 - 15 scale.

Might put some minds at ease

You'll find majestic on tool bars like seobook.
