I recently bought a WSO that emphasizes a lot on Web 2.0 backlinks from free blog sites such as blogger, wordpress, etc. Do any of you all use familiar tactics? I've always stuck to article marketing. now i'm in to profile links, but was wondering if web 2.0 links are worth the time considering that it might be time consuming.

Do any of you all still use web 2.0's?

  • We all do web 2.0 backlinks. It's proven to be very powerful and are usually crawled by Googlebots on a regular basis. Our company have been using this tactic for quite some time and was proven very effective in building a site's credibility while ranking in Google SERPs as well.
  • It is something that can be done to create a link wheel or more incoming links from high PR domains. You need to decide if it is worth the time to create these properties. You also need to decide if you want them to rank and drive traffic to your site, or if you are using them for strictly backlinks.
  • Definitely use Web 2.0's. You need backlinks from many different sources and web 2.0's are a great source of reliable backlinks. Put up some good unique content at places like Hubpages, Squidoo, Blogger, Typepad, Weebly, etc. Then, if you have the resources, mass backlink the web 2.0 properties.

The real power of web 2.0 comes when each of your properties has 10k links of their own. You can leverage the power of the top level domain of a web 2.0 property and basically backlink spam them like crazy with no recourse. And web 2.0 properties with tons of backlinks will pass all that linkjuice down to your site without putting you in any risk at all.

    • Is it necessary to backlink to your site from every post on your web 2.0(blogger,wordpress,livejournal,etc.) property or just on one post is enough. Also, when creating backlinks to my web 2.0 property should i backlink the post or main domain, or both? Where does the most link juice come from, the post or the domain? A lot of questions i know, sorry.
  • if you doing deep linking then every link per post counts. they in turn help the mian site too.
