    But the most important part is: Having other sites from the same country link to you.
    However other parts may help you, but having backlinks from the websites of target country has the most effect on ranking higher for special country. Because for example its possible to change the target country in Google webmaster tools or buy a server from that country. But making backlinks from target country is the most difficult and the most important part.

    The backlinks must have the IP from the target traffic. If you obtain quality backlinks from a specific country, your site will obtain more trust and will rank better. The hosting location is irrelevant.

      Hm you have this backed up with something?
      I mean I have 1-2 sites on .com domains hosted in USA and they rank well for the local traffic

    Bingo and precise should I say. But a .com website can also rank well in say, google.co.uk if it has strong "local" banklink profile.
    Also if you can make a blog in a local language directly linking to your website, that can be a great assest to your rankings.

    And the Bombshells , "local classifieds directories". Can't miss those.
