I have noticed something strange and thought someone could help me out here. I have been doing a decent amount of article writing and web 2.0 work and depending on the sites use both IE or Firefox. When I put an article up on IE and later do a search it will come up as being on the first page on IE but not Firefox and the same works if I submit my article/site through Firefox. These are not the little starred results but in the actual search listings. Anyone know why this happens?
Thanks

    There are two options:
    1) Firefox usually uses USA server and IE uses local server of Google for finding results.
    2) If you have signed in with your Gmail account in of your your browsers, Google returns results according to your country. You can sign in with your account in both browsers and you get the same results.

Thanks for that, I logged out and got different results. So I guess the logged out are the more true results then?

Yeah being logged in makes it seem like your site is ranked higher than it really is.

As other warriors have said, the data can be coming from different servers as well.

Maybe you would like to try clearing your cookies or cache and find out the difference too.. you will be surprised.

But I don't think it really matters that much anyway...

Thanks for all the great responses. I took it a step further just to see what happened by doing the same search from work. When signed in I got the same results as signed in at home and when I signed out they changed. This is good news for some of my stuff and bad for other stuff lol.

This is to say that the result of the browser depend on which server it draws its' data.
